Hi to all, I belong to Rivercityminis, and was over to Randy's pully party in Norfolk last month and saw some old friends from when I had my pully party in 2004 and met a lot of new friends. A brief background...former SCCA Production class racer, lay down go kart racer, owned a 1275 Mini from 1985-2000 that was a pretty heavily modified one driven on the street...ported, polished, balanced, long center branch headers, hogged out S U's, rear bar, lowered, Konis, Minilites, 4:10 final drive...you get the idea, FUN. Sold it to get a new Mini to play with, sometimes wish I hadn't.
Looking forward to meeting more friendly Mini people (they have all been friendly so far and I have been around Mini owners since 1965 when a good friend bought an S)  Keepin' up the rep.

Its so good to see that you were able to pull together a Hampton Roads website.  

I was the driver of LIttle Buddha with tags MINI FVR, my old SG/B MC '05. I had to trade him in on a larger vehicle after finding out I was pregnant. The whole family misses our MINI.

I plan on owning another one in the next four years. Have to pay off this Escape first!  So if oyu see a Ford Escape with MINI FVR plates, that's me (or hubby).

Im watching the new colors carefully... looks like I am going to have to srping for a custom paint job, as I want a color near cherry red.

Hello all.  We crashed your MINI get together at Sonic on the 21st.  Hope you didn't mind!  Ya'll rubbed off on us and we went out and purchased our MINI Cooper S that night.  They called us on Monday, May 22nd and we drove it home tonight!  Checkered Flag added the Sirius and Driving lights today.  Waiting on the center armrest on back order.  

We are excited about our new MINI and would love to join you folks at the Strawberry Festival!

My name's Jenn and I drive Peanut, '03 EB/W. My boyfriend, Marty, and I are moving out your way in a coupla weeks from Sunny San Diego. We've been very active in our local San Dog club, West Coast MINIs, and we can't wait to continue the MINI adventure on the east coast! (We met through the club almost two years ago.) We should be arriving in town around June 21st.   Thanks for the warm welcomes.  Jenn and I should be rollin in to Virginia Beach round about the 20th of June.  We've got to be in town then to recieve our household goods.  We will be driving my MINI (The Taz)
   I was just back there this past week for some work and to secure our rental.  I gotta get used to driving at more normal speeds and not getting the use of a radar detector.  Not that I race around everywhere, just kinda fudge the speed limit by 10mph or so on the freeways :D .  By the way I was really liking the weather back there right up until I walked out of the office about noon on Thursday (25th) Bam! where'd all that heat and humidity come from so quick?!?  
  Again, we are both really looking forward to meeting new folks and exploring the Right coast via the best mode of exploration available...a MINI and MINI Club.

Lots of us go to MINIs on the Dragon, there is usually a large caravan heading that way.

There are other meeting points to caravan to MINIs on a Ferry, check the thread in the Social forum to find your closest point. :) Or lead one if you want, I don't think anyone has volunteered for Chesapeake yet.

I'm up for a group drive fm Ches up to the Ferry event....let's move this over to that thread tho ....

We have a guy who makes t-shirts for us and he also designs the graphics for them.  When we had our last batch of shirts made he also made custome signature graphics for some.  (I think)  :lol:

Hello everyone! :D

I'm new to the world of Minis.  I order my first 6/29/07 and it's due mid August.  :)  We order the '07 MCS Chili Red, 6 speed, w/white roof~mirrors~bonnet stripes, Prem & Sport Pkgs w/17" Web Spoke rims, Chrome Line Interior, Hi-Fi, Rooster Red color line, driving Ralley lights, rear light white out package.  Did I do good?

Now I'm in the waiting game.  :(  It entered production  07/07/07...set for completion 07/15/07. :)   When I called today I was told it was in the paint shop.  The paint shop and Friday the 13th don't  :( sound promising, huh?  Well since it started it's journey on Saturday 07/07/07 lets hope that good luck cancels out bad luck. :!:  :!:  :!:

My husband and I met a few local, and a few not so local, Mini & MINI owners during the World Record attempt gathering at the Sportsplex.  :P  We were in the  Red w/white stripes 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500.  :wink:  We didn't stand out because of the car, but because we were one of the few odd cars other than the Mini around.  We thought it would be an excellent chance to scope out some different options on cars and see what everyone has done with their own touches.  What fun we had and even got a few ideas. :D

We can't wait to do something with all the area Mini owners.  :D  I did catch that there is a car show Sunday from 2-4.  We may try to stop by that, but not in a Mini.  :(  Sorry, you'll have to deal with us in the GT500 I do believe until the Mini arrives.  :?  We're with you in spirit until then.  Besides I'm sure some gear heads will have something in common with my hubby and his car.  I'm sure they will be advising him as to how I can get more HP and torque out of it with pulleys, cool air kits, etc.  Let me stop that.  :twisted:  It cost way too much money when we've already traveled that road in the past year.  :!:  Not to mention we kissed the warranty bye-bye. :cry:

Oh, and I'm a waver. :D   This seems to be an issue with some.  Heck, I'm waving at Minis now from the F150 and the GT500.  :lol:  I'm getting some weird looks, but I'm having fun at it.

Hi all.  

I don't have a mini yet, but I am so excited and can't wait to get one!  At the moment I drive a Cobalt SS/SC, but I have to wait to buy my mini until I figure out what is going on with my orders in the Air Force.  I don't want to buy one if I am going overseas.  I definately would like to come out and meet everyone... so I can drool over your Mini's!!!  
I test drove the 07 a couple times and absolutely love it.  Hopefully, 08's bring a new color and a chrono package (I can dream).
I think I want an Astro Black Mini... after seeing it in person I really liked it.  I also like laser blue, but I've noticed a couple around the area.
Generally, I go to Jenros on Saturday afternoon and Bass Pro Saturday nights, so maybe I'll see some of you out.  I'll definately come say hello!

My hubby and I have been a member of the boards for a while; but, just started getting into being MINI owners.  :D If you see some posts that look like split personalities, well, it's because we are sharing the account. hehehe (The MINI, not as much).

My name is Karen, it took me a 1 1/2 but finally last year, I traded in my 1997 Pathfinder for my 2007 mini.  I can't discribe how much I love to drive my go cart...Oh I forgot you guys all know! The gas milage is super, my Golden fits and we jet set to OC MD, Jersey, Savannah, Upstate NY.  Almost 20,000 miles, the handling is great, and the 3 of us fit perfectly.
This will be my first outing Saturday July 26th with the club. I can't wait to start attending other Mini functions and getting to meet new friends.

We live in Hampton and have two 2004 S models - no use fighting over who got to drive one.  One is RED with stripes, a proper Mini for George, and the other is blue, a cool color for Julie.  Julie drives hers all the time, George's sits in the garage unless the weather is nice.  George is a little paranoid - his has only been rained on twice!  We have lots of Cooper stuff that we are trying to get rid of (would you believe 6 sets of wheels between us.  George has his eye on a ragtop - hmmm would anyonelike a showroom 2004 with 10k miles?

Some of you may remember me, I worked at CF MINI a few years back. Well, I'm back! Some things never change, and to be honest, I'm talking about the great car! I've read a few posts pertianing to CF. I understand and am here to try to help out anyone having issues. Of coarse I am not a miracle worker! But I do believe if we work together we can make CF MINI what it use to be! A gret place to deal with! Lastly, I have moved from Va Beach and now live in Yortown. As well, our new Marketing Manager, Jimmie Anderson, lives in Hampton! I promise you will see us time and agian at your meetings at the Pub! Again, our aim is to gain your trust, your respect as well as your praise!. Only way I know how to do this is to get involved and listen, then act. So, let me know what I can do. I look forward in hearing all of you ideas, as I am as commited in customer satisfaction as you are.

Hey all, I am new to the mini cooper experience.  My cooper is a 2010 clubman pepper & white with bonnet stripes…….. I love the motoring experience. My wife loves the motoring experience.  Every time we went out an about it was tough to decide who was going to drive, so we purchased another mini cooper club man; 2011 clubman, of course hers is better than mine but mine has more personality; equally important it has more driveway time than hers; there for, in my book its better.  In truth hers is really faster but don’t tell her I said so.

I've been a Mini owner now for about a month. I own a 2011 spice orange Mini Cooper, white hardtop with sunroof and am loving it. I've also attended one club meeting and attended Cars and Coffee last weekend. So to let you know more about me in my daytime job I'm a Systems Administrator. I run and workout to stay in shape.  I'm musically inclined and play guitar and mandolin. My business focus is to create teams of people who want to improve their health, create residual income and be a positive inpact on the lives of others.  I am fairly new to this site as well but I am sure others could help you get events and such out there to our members. Hope to meet all of you soon. We live in Williamsburg as well, so more events up in our neck of the woods would be nice. The Hbampton Roads folks are an absolutely wonderful crowd. One of the members is having a cook out this weekend to send of his wife who is getting ready to deploy overseas.

I am also a recent transplant to the Hampton Roads area, recently moved from Maryland.  I have the privilege of owning a 2008 MINI Cooper S, dark silver with black racing stripes, and can be identified fairly easily in any group of MINI's by the ever-present lei on the rearview, and more noticeably, the pink bunny ears I mounted on the steering column.  That's why she's known as The Bunny Mini :) ... I joined the group mostly due to the curiosity instigated by a random "join us" card left on my windshield at NMCP (I thought for sure someone was trying to mug me by leaving something on my car... lol )... and also to get my feelers out on who does good mechanical work on MINI's in the area besides the dealership.  I'm not happy with Checkered Flag so far... my old dealership in Annapolis was 100,000x better.  So, since I drive my poor Bunny hard, I'm in constant need of upkeep.  Most recently, new rear brakes, new timing chain and new tires... if anyone knows of anywhere to go that won't rake me over the coals money-wise, please let me know!! Thanks so much again for pointing me towards Atlantic Autowerks!  They were fantastic!!!  And extremely fair pricing.  I ended up needing a new timing chain assembly (the whole kit and kaboodle)... the same work CF MINI priced me at starting at $3995 just for the kit, Steve got it set up for me for $1450.  Including an oil change too!!!  Just phenomenal folks and above par work.  I'll be going back in a few weeks to get my brakes done  :038:
