I acquired a nice ding on the bonnet near the emblem.  If anyone has a ding-king thingamajingy, I'd like to see if the ding can be removed before having to go to a professional.

It I were you, I'd have Dent Wizard or a similar company do the repair. They repair it by burnishing the metal back to it's original shape from the inside. Truly paint-less repair and if the paint is chipped, they can repair it with an airbrush.  I've seen some of the repairs they've done in the past and they really are invisible. :D

I think it depends on the size of the ding and how accessible it is.  I last spoke to a guy that works for them about 6 years ago and it would have been about $200 to repair a ding/scratch then.  That included fixing the dent and repairing the paint.

yep - I had 'em fix a nice ding .... $200 but happy with the result.

That was b4 I got into doing this kind of stuff myself but for a small 'sharp' ding, their experience is beneficial...

Doesn't cost anything to get an estimate.  CF can have them come in when car is in for something else (but there may be a mark-up {may!?!?} as it gets billed thru them)

Erika, before you do anything, try this little trick. I saw it work on on a web video.  Heat the area for a minute with a hair dryer or heat gun... then take a can of compressed air, turn it upside down, and completely spray the area with the liquid CO2.  After about 20 seconds it's possible the dent will pop itself right out.

Oooooo....I like that idea!  Are you talking about the compressed air that's used for cleaning computer keyboards & such?

omg,

I have horrible scratches on the passenger side door, and thought that purchasing some gaurenteed paint that will match and fixing it my self would solve everything.

Now that I see there's more to fixing paint scratches, I need help.

I have the paint, I just need a good body paint shop reccommendation!

As long as the paint isn't in need of respraying, and the dent is no larger then say, a 50 cent piece, your probably looking at about $65 from the Dent Dr. It never fails, when someone has a dent, I can't find Chris's number.
