honestly I've never driven on a track... my buddy who hooked me up with the salesman is a track junkie- he's got an 82 911 that he's been tracking at VIR for a while. He just rebuilt the engine and replaced the trans after what he called a "money shift" incident (he shifted wrong and it cost a lot of money lol)

The RS60 is truly a purebred sportscar, so its gonna be time for me to learn the rules and get onboard....!

I guess I should start by signing up for one of those driving courses at VIR, though I hear they sell out in 1 day now...

Nice choice.  A guy I work with has a Cayman S that I sometimes get caught drooling on in the parking lot.

If your intrested in getting on track there are a number of clubs that offer very good High Performance Driver Education events. I'm an instructor for the Tarheel Sportscar Club (www.thscc.com) and their events are excellent. There is also the PCA, NASA and a whole gaggle of others.

Very interested in the driver ed events, sadly I have a mega-wait on my hands (6 months!!!) sheesh, I thought waiting for MINIs was bad...  :090:

CF Porsche (down at VBB & N Lynnhaven Rd) is getting what they call a "launch car" of the RS60 Spyder on March 15, so go in and check it out if you have the time/inclination. It's really good for me if people pop in too look because I was a referral from another Porsche guy, and because of that I was treated great from the minute I went in...

If Ed Klima (my MA) noticed people coming in because of my "word of mouth" it only *improves* my bargaining clout (hint hint hint  :icon_mrgreen: )

I'll gladly do a "check it out" day (maybe even let folks take it for a spin  :096:) when it arrives in July in return! (Hey, we can even make it part of an official event/run if there's interest)

I mean, only if you want to, of course  :080:

(BTW that offer applies to everyone well-known in the club... but if some guy named, say, oh I dunno... 'Rex' for instance, shows up with a nervous twitch, I might want a deposit lol....)

signed the papers Tuesday afternoon.... had a VERY smooth delivery, terms exactly as defined over 6 months ago!!

I'm planning a trip to the Dragon for some twisty fun the weekend of July 26-27-28.. so look for me on Killboy.com later that week  :icon_biggrin:
