Festivals that are happening in Va.  Just a thought I'd post in case anyone is interested in doing a Meet/Run/Gathering for Festival Fun.  It's not all about ice cream....I like funnel cakes too  :icon_razz:

July 18-19, 2009  34th Annual Pork, Peanut & Pine Festival
Surry, Virginia
Pork, peanut and pine have been Surry County's cash crops for nearly 400 years.

October 10, 2009  Chincoteague Oyster Festival
Chincoteague, Virginia
Marks the arrival of the oyster season. An all you can eat festival - oysters prepared just about every way imaginable, steamed crabs, clam fritters, clam chowder, hush puppies, potato salad, cole slaw, hot dogs, and various beverages. Live entertainment, Raffle. This is an advance ticketed event. Tickets will sell out. There are usually no tickets sold at the gate. The oyster festival is held rain or shine.

We have not been to the Pork, Peanut, and Pine Festival in years.  Will really try hard to pencil that one in for Sunday.
