I'm thinking which one has good parking and a warm place to sit/stand to get out of the cooler winter weather? Maybe we should try a meet at each place and vote for our favorite?

Just a note. The Highland Inn website says there are no rooms. That is because they are all reserved for US!! Please call to make your reservations and say you are with the HRMINI group. If the Inn fills up, they have rooms across the street at their sister motel, the Montvalee. Just ask about them, they can book you in those as well.

Thanks all you rain die-hards. Yes, I was quite surprised to see so many people showing up for breakfast and didn't get a count of Minis until the rest stop. 22 cars!  The parking lot at Mr Whippy's was a riot of Minis. I hope someone who got a photo will post it. I noticed the number of MINIs dwindling around town as the day continued in rain and more rain. We were down to 7 Minis for dinner at Wrights at 6pm. Our feet were wet but our Minis were still willing to give us a tour. 4 Minis spent the night. Sunday was a little misty still. Will be sharing some photos myself very soon. Thanks again for such a big turnout! I certainly hope you all injoyed the day dispite the rain. |

Here is the official meeting information for the Pony Express trip.
If you want to meet in Hampton at 7am be at Cracker Barrel on Mercury
Breakfast 8am at WaffleTown USA
2113 Pleasure House Road (at Shore Drive) Virginia Beach, VA
Leave Waffle Town at 9:30
Go across Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (toll $12 and $5 for return trip with receipt within 24 hours)
Stop at Rest Stop on right side north of bridge (adjacent to toll booths on south bound side)
Leave Rest Stop at 10:30
Arrive Mr Whippy's about noon.
6201 Maddox Blvd., Chincoteague VA 23336
You may meet us at any of the locations. The highligted times are generally time we are leaving that place with the exception of eating breakfast at 8am at Waffle Town.
Bring toll money, sun screen, sunglasses, beach stuff, walking shoes, camera, radios, jacket, shopping and eating money.
A group dinner will be discussed at Mr. Whippy's for Wrights Restaurant.
A few people will be making a weekend of it by staying at the Quality Inn on Maddox Road.

I don't see anywhere on this thread where anyone has consolidated the confirmed attendees and it's been my experience that the more names that get posted, the more interest there is in an event ("so many people going, it must be fun!") so I'll take my own suggestion ..
