Hampton Roads Club Mini

There's no blind spot with the top down.     Convex mirrors will help a ton with those issues too.  Now if they'd just make a clubman cabrio...

Eh... I decided last second to roll in the Altima.  2 reasons... 1, I'm curious how it'll do actually...  and 2, I want to get on the road asap.  Now the kids may change my mind again when I get them here shortly, so it'll be a big mystery what I show up in at this point.  lol.  Whatever, can't wait to see everyone.  Laurie, I'd be happy to bring you cider and/or apples anyhow.   

That sweetheart of a woman Laurie has offered up her baby for us to take this weekend!     It's a white Christmas after all!  

I guess that's what's disappointing is I was looking forward to riding shotgun for once for picture duties.  I called Checkered Flag to see if they rented out any Mini's... they don't, which is crazy because they have them available for rent.  I'm sure Nathan can't exactly hook me up for an extended test drive for the weekend either.  lol.

In other news, I believe my friend Sean has decided to totally bail on me, since I haven't reached him for two days and he's not returning my calls.  So, I am mini-less for this trip, and will likely be bringing the Altima, unless someone out there has a spare mini they can offer up and trade me for the Altima or my Limited Avalon for the weekend.    I guess I'll just be the slow guy in corners... but at least we'll be enjoying above average roominess. lol

What weather did you check?  I went to weather.com and put in for Bedford, VA and it says 60 on Saturday with partly cloudy skies, and a few degrees cooler on Sunday, same skies.  No rain!

Holy Mackerel...  seriously guys, I'll stay home if you're gonna drop like flies the second I throw back into this thing.   

Truly sorry to see anyone not able to make it out this weekend... it's a unique experience and has provided more smiles per mile the past 2 years than anything else the club does (except maybe for Autocross. lol)    

I'm heading out of town around 2:30 pm... anyone else leaving approximately the same time?  We can meet up somewhere and drive up together.

Pretty hit or miss here.... Deb and I waited for about an hour and forty minutes, starting at 9 am.  We had the same problem..the slow point was the people and machines coding the voting cards, not the amount of actual voting machines.  Shame they didn't set it up to just enter your info on the machine itself... much more efficient.

Looks like some good roads to be had up there... I'm betting the road around Smith Mountain Lake is pretty good depending on how time is floating by for everyone.  

Ok gang, good news... I'm coming along this weekend!   

Actually I'm riding shotgun with my buddy Sean, and I'm bringing Franklin and Dario along as well, which will free me up to make good use of my Canon Digital SLR. 

During the run on Saturday, Dario would love to ride shotgun with any single person coming up, as we all know the day in a backseat of a mini isn't a great place to be.  Also, Angela... Franklin would like some time with Andria I'm sure.   

We're leaving around 2:30 pm...  is the general consensus that the fastest way there is to take 460?
