Actually, there's Maggie Moo's and Collangellos (or something like that) Gellato. But PIE works better for me anyway!

Save the snow pic until Jan! I like either of the other pics.

Do  I see a Douars run coming soon? Ice cream might be a bit of, but I could sure go for a burger. And heck, a Tropical Sundae too for that mater!

Count us in! We'll be taking Tyler and his "stuff" to Disney the weekend of Thanksgiving, that's after getting his "stuff" from Charlotte the weekend before Thanksgiving. So we'll be looking for a relaxing weekend. We'll just commute back and forth as far as I know. That is unless Regina changes my mind.
5  Welcome To Hampton Roads MiNi! / Off Topic Chat / Re: Unfortunate accident involving teens on: November 15, 2008, 08:30:28 AM
The story I read online said the driver of the van stated there were two cars coming at him. The first one went by and the second one couldn't negotiate the curve and crossed the center line. Having said that, that wouldn't have been an accident, that would have been a wreck. Accidents don't just happen by themselves. Someone has to make a mistake. Granted, this kid made a terrible mistake and killed himself and two friends. But it was a mistake, or a lapse in judgement at the least. Having a teen driver and one on the way to getting her license, I hope they can learn something from this tragedy. I feel so sorry for the parents, I can't begin to imagine their feelings. But again, maybe that's something the kids should have thought about too.

I hope that didn't sound too insensitive, but the kids made a mistake. A) the driver cause the wreck by his driving actions and B) his passengers were merely passengers and were victims. Could they have made him slow down? Who knows. I do feel bad for the families and hope no one here EVER has to go through that. And hopefully, this will make all of their friends drive better and safer.

That sounds like fun. I've been to the Grand Illumination but that was years ago. It was pretty neat, though crowded then and I can only imagine more so now. Yorktown is also pretty interesting and surely worth a look. I think we should definitely make this happen.

Oh, and Angela, sorry about the lay off, but glad you're okay with it. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yep, keep it stock, but I would suggest some decent tires. And Ireland Engineering camber plates. They'll give you a bit more negative camber in the front. That's good even for street driving. Ya got a great car to start with (And it's Laser Blue 023) Starting out autocrossing, the driver will be the part that needs the most adjustments! Trust me, I ran my first autocross in 1979 and I'm still a work in progress!

Hey John, I really like your zipper roof graphic. I'd like to do something on the roof, but can't seem to talk the wife into it yet. Note I said yet! 044

I think Regina is planning on making it this time. Really. Only problem is we head down to Charlotte to get the boy and his stuff back from school before he heads down to Disney and his externship. I'll keep y'all updated.Better yet. I'll get her to sign up here and get a screen name.

John, I really need to get Christy by the shop and see Stan again. So he can feel as old as I do. Darn hard to think the last time he saw her was as an infant at the Maaco convention in Puerto Rico. She wouldn't sleep and he held her and danced her right to sleep. Hmm, at 10:30 on a school night, I could use him now! I swear that girl doesn't sleep!

And gang, Christy is really honored for the responses to a truly spur of the moment picture.

OH! She just pointed out March is her birth month! 023

Steve, yea, the car was here until Regina took off at 10 AM and I haven't seen here since. And she has dinner ready. I gotta check that odometer when I get home!

Jeff, I'd have loved a white roof, but in my opinion, MINI missed the mark on the roof. On a Clubbie it's either black or silver. White isn't offered. I think white would look good.

And the C pillars and bumper top pad are on order. Can't wait to make Gizmo different!

Well, Gizmo finally made it to town! We picked him up Friday from Nathan and the CF folks. So far everything is fine. Came in just as ordered and everything looked great. I wish I couldda made the Fall Colors run, but I just couldn't squeeze it into the schedule. We kinda had our own Fall Colors run up to Williamsburg today though, but I really wished I could have been out there with y'all.

Christy likes him!

I have to give a nod th the Yokohama S-Drive tires. I put them on Tyler's '07 MCS and love 'em. I think I'll put a set on the Clubman ASAP.

As for sizes being different sizes, I've seen that over the years. I've run Hoosiers on autocrosses for years. Right now my 225's on the front of the Camaro are noticeably wider than the 245's on the rear.

Jumping through insurance hoops does stink! Good luck. Is it getting any better?
