Car show is nice, Drinking around the workd is "unusual", several drives, some are pretty spirited. Like the 100+ mph sprint on some awesome deserted 4 lane divided highway last year. Thought our group was lost. In fact, we were, but we had a blast. The laps at the Richard Petty driving experience track, otherwise known as the MICKyard was cool too. Another 100+ mph jaunt. Though they did have a little problem with that!
We really did a lot of stuff on our own, but still had a blast!

MINI USA really ppes me off when it comes to delays in announcing venues, lodgings etc. After working MTTS in 2008, they really don't have a clue and I"m amazed the event even happens at all!
Has anyone gotten any sort of confirmation yet? I paid but haven't gotten anything in the form of an Email yet! Amazing.

This is a really cool event. I've done it each year so far, but only twice from start to finish. This year I can only make Sunday's run, since Christy graduates on that Saturday. Since I was at a race when she was born, I figured I'd better make graduation. But Saturday evening I'm HAULIN S (my license plate, get it?) out to Roanoke to join up for the last leg of the run.
If you've got some free time, make plans to do the BRPT!

Here's another review .. and I've all but posted this "leave Durham 9:30-10 to lunch in Marions" as "in ink" on the Tar Heel forum .. I think I got myself so excited I had to make it a plan!!! http://www.ourstate.com/bruces-fabulous-food/And Steve, another reason you and Elaine should hold out for the Wednesday caravan .. Bruce's ain't open on the weekends .. Its also Dale and Regina and maybe Lelane going down Sunday. Celia and "Stickers" from CMMM is planning on joining us at South Hill around around 9AM. She's leaving MD around 5AM. She'll be a tired puppy when we roll into Fontana. As will Regina who is working the Richmond NASCAR race selling souvenirs until late Saturday AND she's driving the Clubman so I can drive Tyler's car. Why you ask? Because he's flying in on Tuesday to join us! But he has to leave Wednesday

Hi Dale: Thank you very much for responding. Its Justa cooper. We found out today our poor mellow yellow is sick. We took it to Yorktown Haus and we found out that the steering pump is going out and it needs new spark plugs. I read through quite a few postings on the forum and everyone had rave reviews for yorktown. However are there any other shops in the area you would suggest?
What days are you at Maaco? My husband works down there at JBLE and I will definitely tell him to stop by.
Agreed, power steering pumps are an issue with 1st gen MINIs. Plugs are easy, you just wanna use some sort of anti seize compound on the plugs. Stop by anytime, I'm almost always there. I can usually find time to talk MINI!

Ya know, injectors might be an issue. If it's running lean at the top end it would build heat and heat is the enemy of hp. Injectors might help, especially with a tune. I think dropping to a 15% pulley "might" help. It might be worth a dyno run with stock ignition too, just as a comparison, but make sure you do it just like the previous run was. Don't change a bunch of things, that way you may not know what helped and what didn't.
