196  Welcome To Hampton Roads MiNi! / Introductions Please / Fool68 is here on: April 25, 2006, 01:38:27 PM
What's up!   Welcome to the group.  Looks like they have had a run on HB/W MINIs at CF.  I think this is the 3rd or 4th one in the past month.  My wife just got a 2006 MC HB/W.

My office is in Chesapeake so keep an eye out for a MCS CR/B with tags that read Hot Wngz .

Macs have always been the superior operating system in my opinion.  However, I work in a Windows world.  :-(

200  Grease Pits / ICE / Flash2Pass on: April 22, 2006, 11:16:33 AM
No, because the F2P is a transmitter installed under the hood and tapped into the wires to the High Beam lights.  So when you hit the high beams it powers the transmitter which activates the receiver (which is a new wall switch/receiver that comes with F2P) and opens the g-door.  If someome doesn't have the F2P transmitter then they cannot open the g-door.  The transmitter/receiver is digital technology as well with rolling codes for safety and security.

Plus the F2P transmitter is ran off your MINI battery so no more replacing batteries in a g-door remote.  All your existing remotes will continue to work because they will use the receiver in your existing g-door opener unit mounted on the ceiling in the garage.

It is a handy mod and so far so good!  Let me know if you have any more questions.  - larry

Installed in 20 minutes or so and only had a minor problem with getting the clips to close on the tap wires.  Works great.  Flash the high beams and the g-door opens and closes.  Much better range than my regular remote control and way cooler plus I don't have to have the remote clipped on my visor.  So so far I would say that it is a fairly simple and inexpensive mod and very much worth the money.    :smt023 www.f2pelectronics.com

Well, since my wife opted for the integrated garage door opener on her 06 MINI I am more than a little irritated that I have to fumble around with my garage door opener remote in my MINI.  So I have purchased a garage door opener for my MINI that will open and close the door when I flash my high beams.  I will hopefully install the device tonight and will have a report for you guys tomorrow.  You an view the item, made in American I believe, at www.f2pelectronics.com.  - larry

I mean the one that is listed on the opening page for HRMINI where you can have pictures and such.  Or am I missing something here that is painfully obvious and making myself look like an idiot!
