32  Social Side / Hampton Roads / Re: World Record Broken (again) on: September 26, 2007, 09:47:44 AM
I am not sure they would qualify to break the record.  Unless I am missing something on that site the record is most MINI/Minis in a convoy or line.  Spelling out a phrase in a parking lot with 400+ MINIs could not break the record.

Well, here we don't often get snow, but we do get sleet and freezing rain occasionally.  Plus I travel to points north (not too far).  I would hate to be caught out in bad weather like that with tires that can't handle it.  I would like a performance tire that will support the MINIs capabilities, last significantly longer than 30k and won't put me in the ditch if do find myself in poor wintery weather.

Define "All Season"..  Do you really need snow capability?  If you can look past that there are many tasty possibilities..

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks very much to everyone for the recommendations.  It really can be daunting to pick new tires out.  There are so many and some are very expensive.

Sean, you said you drove the Avons...how many miles did you get out of them?  I wonder why they are so inexpensive if they are so good.  The reviews on TireRack are very good.

Gentleman....... let the tire posting begin!!!

Avon Ultra High Performance All Season

Kuhmo High Performance All Season

I drove on the Avons and I thought they were great.  Check out the Tire Rack.com.  I've ordered about 4 sets of tires from them and they are great to deal with.

Looking for tire recommendations.  Are there excellent performance tires that are also all season??  Or am I smoking crack?  Also looking for a tire that would last longer than 32k miles.  Thanks - larry

I saw this on MySpace and thought it was a great paint job on a Mini.  What do you think?

Riqui,
I saw your new stripes on your MINI today when we down at ODU picking our son up from sailing camp. WOW! I can't get over how great it looks. Very nice and very unique. No mistaking that MINI at all now. So despite the trials and tribulations with MightyStripes it turned out great.  - larry
