Yes, I'm parting ways with my beloved litte car.  Since the car accident in the hubby's car last year the joy of driving is just not there for me any longer.  I've really tied to get it back, but cars are just a means to get me back and forth from here to there now days.  Since we have a driveway full of other choices I've decided to let the one with a payment go.

We've only had short stories to tell concerning the recent snow storms, but those to the north, south, and west of us are still digging out and having to endure the mess.  I came across this pic and had to share it.  I'm sure this is how some of them feel.

We're working our way closer to this scene by the day and with every lousy repair job.

I've only been on the interstate before the snows, but hear that they are cluttered with DEEP   pot holes.  I've noticed some pretty deep ones around town.  I've caught a few local news stories concerning it as well.  I'm thinking of parking the MINI for awhile and driving the F150 truck.  I almost visited Never Never Land a few weeks ago on the interstate heading to Norfolk.  If I would've went into that one I'm sure I'd have been dug out from the point of no return without major damage.  

Pot holes have always been an issue in this area because of the lousy job the contractors do when repairing them to begin with.   Yeah, I've heard the contractors excuses   and I still know better along with most of the drivers on the roads.   Now since the snows and plows have made many of the existing ones worst and created new ones it's like driving thru a war zone at times.  I'm thinking I need to introduce VDOT contractors to some of the crafting products I've used through the years.    I bet I can do it a heck of a lot cheaper than they do as well.  Too bad I'm not in the back pocket of someone making these type decisions.  

We might try to make it to some Mini/MINI gathering in the near future if the weather stops being an issue.  When we sold our monster Jeep years ago to make garage room for the hubby's new horse power interest I seriously thought our 4x4 days were in our past.    We do have the F150 we could drive, but it's just not the same at a club event.

During the Blizzard of 1980, I believe it was, we took a huge truck intertube down Trashmore with about eight teens hanging on.   We were flying down the higher size and all of us had to jump out while hauling butt to avoid crashing through the fence on the YMCA side.  The interstate would be impossible to tackle due to fences, ditches, and of course the other road running along side it. 

The last time I was on Trashmore I even made the comment to my son that it was in no condition for a good time in the snow.  There's huge ditch like trenches running across it in many areas.  They are surely there for a reason as big as they are. 

So our local kids hit anything  around the city that resembles a hill for their snow fun.   The hubby mentioned that the road ramp off Salem Road to get on Ferral Parkway had over a hundred kids on it last weekend.  He also mentioned that around 40 or so cars were parked around the area.  The police clear it out every now and then only to return hours later to repeat their efforts.

EVERYONE BE SAFE OUT THERE THIS WEEKEND!!! 

No, not again.  Our local weather guys have been saying maybe snow this weekend, then maybe again Tuesday/Wednesday.  There's a reason I live in Virginia Beach, and it isn't  for only mountain we have (Mount Trashmore) that we can't use when it's covered with snow.

OMGosh, so sorry to read about this.    Will he be back to 100% after the surgery?  I sure hope so.  In the mean time check the underneath of that dish washer out and be sure one of his toys didn't make it's way under there.  Upon his return home he'll surely be seaching it out again.
