Hampton Roads Club Mini

Bill and I would love to join in another dinner out with some Mini folks. We'll have to make more of an effort to introduce ourselves and get to know more of you this time around.

Any chance of me coming across one of those really nice HR Mini hoody/jackets like I saw being passed out at the last outing?  Any left for sale?  Anyone willing to part with an XLarge one, for a price of course?   I'm interested in any HR badges, magnets, etc.  I have nothing to show my support for this club.

Bummer!   I guess I missed out on this one. 

Right along with ordering a really nice HR hoody/jacket that I saw a few people wearing at the dinner.  I want one!

I was amazed at how we kept everyone together until right towards the end.  Our leader did an excellent job with the lights  and keeping it at a safe  speed.  I think it was the best organized convoy thus far.

Thanks  for putting this together Angela.  It was a great time had by all I'm sure. We've only been to a hand full of other Mini gatherings and I believe I only could count three other people I'd seen before.

Someone please post some of your pics.  I forgot  the good camera at home and didn't  get any pics to enjoy.

Angela, sorry about the confusion  while trying to actually get back in line at the lights.  After you walked back from our car we figured that the other Minis would pull up in front of us by ones and twos to fit back in.  We honestly thought that truck was trying to cut in.  When he gave up and pulled in behind us he started flashing his high beams on and off like crazy.  My son in the back seat thought we'd ticked  the guy off royally and feared for his life.  I got out of our car and walked back to his truck to explain that we were trying to get the other Minis back in line with us and I thought he was trying to cut in.  He was very upset, so sorry about the confusion.  We didn't realize he was with of us not being in a Mini.  So much for staying in the back of the line and not causing any trouble. Please accept our sincere apologies to all involved in this little mishap.



 

It was warm enough last year that I rode with one of the verts in the club.  I got some excellent pics and video of the club enjoying the Christmas  ride.  I was only able to get a few cars in front of me and a few in back, but it was well worth getting just a bit chilled. 

PS - We went last year with the Hubby's Mustang Club.  No discount was offered, but they strung us along about it.  We also had the first car loaded with all the funds ($$/addmission) to get everyone through together.  They didn't like  :076:that we pulled over to the side for a few minutes to wait for some others to catch up before going moving along.  So maybe as we first enter the site we need to get everyone lined up, before we get close to the entrance, if we want to travel through as a club.   If the first car pays for X numbers of cars to get through we should be about to get through without interruption.

I'm not trying to step on anyone's organizational skills here.   Hopefully this may help.

Our family would love to attend this event.

I'm going to catch it  from all you true Mini and MINI lovers, but I like it.

This was a very well planned out event.    Two thumbs up    to everyone involved in putting it together.  Looking forward to next year!

Hello everyone! :D

I'm new to the world of Minis.  I order my first 6/29/07 and it's due mid August.  :)  We order the '07 MCS Chili Red, 6 speed, w/white roof~mirrors~bonnet stripes, Prem & Sport Pkgs w/17" Web Spoke rims, Chrome Line Interior, Hi-Fi, Rooster Red color line, driving Ralley lights, rear light white out package.  Did I do good?

Now I'm in the waiting game.  :(  It entered production  07/07/07...set for completion 07/15/07. :)   When I called today I was told it was in the paint shop.  The paint shop and Friday the 13th don't  :( sound promising, huh?  Well since it started it's journey on Saturday 07/07/07 lets hope that good luck cancels out bad luck. :!:  :!:  :!:

My husband and I met a few local, and a few not so local, Mini & MINI owners during the World Record attempt gathering at the Sportsplex.  :P  We were in the  Red w/white stripes 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500.    We didn't stand out because of the car, but because we were one of the few odd cars other than the Mini around.  We thought it would be an excellent chance to scope out some different options on cars and see what everyone has done with their own touches.  What fun we had and even got a few ideas. :D

We can't wait to do something with all the area Mini owners.  :D  I did catch that there is a car show Sunday from 2-4.  We may try to stop by that, but not in a Mini.  :(  Sorry, you'll have to deal with us in the GT500 I do believe until the Mini arrives.  :?  We're with you in spirit until then.  Besides I'm sure some gear heads will have something in common with my hubby and his car.  I'm sure they will be advising him as to how I can get more HP and torque out of it with pulleys, cool air kits, etc.  Let me stop that.  :twisted:  It cost way too much money when we've already traveled that road in the past year.  :!:  Not to mention we kissed the warranty bye-bye. :cry:

Oh, and I'm a waver. :D   This seems to be an issue with some.  Heck, I'm waving at Minis now from the F150 and the GT500.  :lol:  I'm getting some weird looks, but I'm having fun at it.

WE look very forward to sharing some very special Mini moments with you all. :D
