For anyone wondering, the Pungo Strawberry Festival is May 29th and 30th.  Parade is on Saturday.  The official address is 1776 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA.  Parade entrace is usually at Princess Anne and Flanagans Lane.

Here are some old pics:

We usually meet at the Sonic at 1137 Nimmo Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA.  I think we depart from there at 9 a.m.

Looks good, but the photos are kinda small.  Try 640x480 or 800x600 resolution.  Then we can really see the glow.

Update posted on NAM.  There is a 60-ton boulder that has to be removed.  Re-open date is now March 26th.

Here's the NAM post:  NAM - The Dragon is Closed.

Here's the news link:  WBIR - Rock Slide.

This is a cut-and-paste from another thread:

I did some research and found this:  Motoring Underground - 2007 S Engine FS.  Ad was posted on 2-21-2010.  Owner says one cylinder has low compression, but the engine appears to be OK overall.  Asking $800.

You can also try Car Part.com.  Search by year, make, model, and engine.  Preliminary search yielded prices around $3K for a complete engine.  Just a block search yielded no results.  There are other sites that help find parts online.  Used the words "used car parts" in the Google Advanced Search option (to include all words).  At each parts site you look at, after picking year/make/model/engine, there should be options to search by complete engine or block only, depending on your needs.  Short block will contain block, crank, connecting rods, and pistons.  Long block will include cylinder head and camshaft, and possibly fuel railing, but no accessories (e.g. alternator, AC compressor).

My brother's '87 van had a cracked throttle body housing a couple of years ago.  The part was made by Champion (who bought a large division of GM parts manufacturing a few years ago), but they have gone out of business.  I did a used search on one of these sites.  I received e-mails from various used parts stores saying they had one in stock.  Final price was only about $100.  Was well worth it.

Secondly, is the driver a female with a bushy mustache, or a man with some serious upper region chest flesh? 018

Oh no you didn't!

(I was thinking the same thing!)

Well, he could be taking some special hormones.   044

I booked a room at the Crossland Inn just up the road.  Go do Travel Now and enter "stanleysville, nc" as your destination.  It's $39.99 for one room, plus $7 for two guests.  Smoking was the only thing available, though.  I'm going by myself, so let me know if you want to bunk and split the room fee.  I'm sure I can upgrade if needed.

748  Social Side / National & Larger Events / Tail of the Dragon - Rock Slide on: March 15, 2010, 09:26:31 AM
A member of Tar Heel MINIs posted a link to WBIR News about a rock slide that occurred yesterday on U.S. 129 along the Dragon.  They are not indicating when the highway will be reopened, but I find it hard to believe it will last into when we go at the end of April.

I'll call tomorrow and get the reservation transferred.  I guess you could say it's considered a cabin.  Individual rooms are for the hotel at the top of the hill.
