That is an Eastern Bluebird.  Very pretty.  If you notice, he's also tagged.

Too cool!   038  I love driving through those colonial streets late at night in the summer when they open them up.

Sounds like a plan.  Got date?  Could not find one (unless I'm blind).   017

Very cool about RMW tuning the Porsche 997.  I watched the beginning of the race; never got back to it.

Yes, true.  However, the lot is private.  If the store is closed, and they don't make a call, is he still able to make the citation?

The brave mailman takes on nature once again.   066    You have to really acknowledge that... also goes for policemen, firemen, etc.  Be safe doing your job.   059

To elaborate on the piles of snow back in 1989...  they were like 8-10' high from when they cleared the parking lot.  That's why it took so long for them to melt.  The snow even felt weird, like it was not really at 32 degrees.

Yeah, I'm not taking out my Mini in this mess.  If I do anything, it will be the old Monte.  Already thought of going up the street to K-Mart to do some donuts. 023  Neighbor across the street went up there around 10 a.m. to do so in his truck.  He said someone was already out there doing them.   icon_eek

Don't forget January 1989.  Had 16" one weekend, then 12" the following weekend.  There were piles of old snow in the K-Mart parking lot up the street until May!   103

It's called senility.  The technical term is senilitis maximus.  Very contageous...   044

838  Grease Pits / Wheels and Tires / Re: Looking for New tires for the WEE and maybe rims? on: January 29, 2010, 10:33:58 AM
I'm a huge fan of the Hankook Ventus V4 es tires.  I had two sets on my '02 MCS, and I'm going to get them again whenever I can find the rims I'm trying to buy.  They grip the road well and are fairly quiet throughout their life.   023

They still sell the Hankooks at Pep Boys.  Try waiting until they do the Buy 3 Get One Free deal.  This requires tires, mounting, and balancing to get the rebate.

Prior to the Hankooks, I had the Yokohama Paradas.  Loved the tread pattern; hated the noise!  The inner edge of them wore down (based on the way Minis have their camber set up) and eventually sounded like a set of Thornburgs going down the road!   103

Hey, anyone want to get some kind of sign together to hang in there?  Maybe make a banner?   023
840  Welcome To Hampton Roads MiNi! / Off Topic Chat / Re: Good Junk Yards in Hampton Roads? on: January 28, 2010, 08:54:07 AM
The only import junk yard that comes to mind is English Motors on Rt. 17.  However, he's really stingy about charging high prices for used parts.  My friend and I had to get an idler pulley for his Nissan Sentra (the old one literally flew off somewhere down the road).  We pulled one ourselves, and it was half-rusty.  The guy at the counter wanted $50!  Come on... I could get a new one for that price (back then).
