Hampton Roads Club Mini

Has anyone had to replace a windshield locally?  I've got a crack started down the middle of the windshield.  After reading up on NAM I see a near consensus that the PPG glass holds up much better that the original.  But, after calling arround most places can't get the rain-sensing PPG windshield or claim PPG doesn't make one.  The ones that realise that PPG does make one have to order it and add a $150 freight charge.  That boosts the cost to over $500 for a windshield?  Ouch!

Maybe I should give the OEM glass another chance.  What's your experience with windshield replacement?

ACU4 veterans:  This is my first time.  Are "loaner" helmets made available at these events or do I need to go buy a helmet this week?

I got in at 121.  Had to try 3 times before I got in and that last try only had 2 numbers available.  That was at 8:04pm, so the spots went fast!

What time on Sunday (today) does registration open?
I don't want to miss out while sitting around watching TV.  :)

I AM going to drive in one of these events this year!  But I guess not this one. :(   I'll be in Yankee Stadium.  :)

Oops.  Can't race this Sunday.  The sailing race is tomorow, not today.
I'll be there the first time I don't have a conflict!

I went last month just to watch.  Then two of these fine MINI owners each invited me to ride as a passenger on one of thier runs.  What a blast!  I'm driving my MINI this time!

I'm registered.  First time.  I have no idea what I'm doing.
