New Parade Rules/Changes for 2007:
Parade starts at 10AM this year vice 11AM.
No beads/candy can be tossed from vehicles for safety/lawsuit reasons.
That doesn's mean you can't use or wear beads as part of your MINI decorations or personal attire.
Ten MINIs MAX for this years parade. I would like to give preference to those who participated in the past two years and invested money into the graphics. See list 8 paragraphs below for the driver list.
There was a little interest in having a float, but nothing materialized. We are too close to the parade date to get a float organized so perhaps next year.

Staging Area at Old Coast Guard Station Airfield in Pungo off of Flannigans Road.
The Pungo Coast Guard staging area is where we will ensure that our MINIs are in correct formation. Bring water, chairs, hats, snacks etc. In the past it has been hot on the airfield and there is nothing to do there once we are formed up except to wait for the start time. If it is cool or a chance of rain then plan accordingly. The parade has never been rained out in its 20 plus year history.
I pulled names from the other Parade Thread. Let me know if you are still interested in driving in the parade or not. If are you are no longer interested and on the list now please let me know so that I can open your space for someone else.
Also if you have participated in the past and are not on the list let me know.Since we are limited to 10 MINIs max my wife and I will not be driving in the parade.

Parade Graphics.
We have special magnetic parade graphics that are used just for this parade. Almost all the parade veterans have them. I use to require that everyone have them, but lifted that requirement last year. They are very nice and you can see them here:
http://www.in2guitar.com/minipreparade.html and here
http://www.in2guitar.com/strawfest/ministrawfest1.html I believe that everyone that wants Parade Graphics has access to them from other members. So I don't think there is any need for anyone to buy them this year. I loaned my set to Trish. I can't recall if I loan my wife's set out, but if not I may have another set. We also have one set of HRMINI mags in Red and ones set in Blue.
Post Parade
If you want to stay for the festival then parking is available right at where the parade terminates and last year the cost was $5. If you stay don't plan on going anywhere for a couple of hours as the post parade traffic can be difficult. HOWEVER,
It is a lot easier to leave the festival directly from the exit route designated by the Pungo Parade officials. It is blocked off from general traffic and only parade participants can use this route.
After last year's parade there was a group of us that used the exit route as a mini MINI run and went to Jakes BBQ for lunch because it is close to Pungo. We can do it again this year and we could do Jakes BBQ again or another restaurant in the Red Mill Commons shopping center and there are a few that could handle a group. Of course even those not participating in the parade are welcome to meet us there just let me know so I can have a number to give to the restuarant. I don't want to surprise them with more people than planned.
