Pungo Strawberry Festival UPDATE! Please all read.
I just received an email from the Pungo Strawberry Festival Board which met last night to discuss this year's parade.
In contradiction of what the Pungo Strawberry Festival Parade Coordinator told me via a phone conversation just Sunday night the board met and denied my requests to drive side by side, to toss beads or candy to the crowd and to use their logo or festival design in any shirts for our group. The first two were denied because of safety reasons and the last seems to be rather arbitrary.
The board stated that the parade coordinator will contact me about the number of MINIs we will be allowed. So we can still be in the parade and have a float if that comes to fruitition (it appears there is little interest in that).
So I will put a up a poll and see if there is enough interest now with the group to even justify participating in the parade this year.
