Absolutely!  Thanks very much BJ.  I will be honored to ride in an original!  - larry

quote="Capt_BJ"]Larry - want shotgun in OC?

That way you can

a) get the 'gift' I never realized only went once per group.....

b) be readily available to claim the parade graphic magnets that I plan to turn over to you at the end of the parade as it is a BIT of a drive from Cape Canaveral for next time.....

c) you can show me how to get to Jake's.....

if Larry says no .... the seat is open......[/quote]

Nope!  Just vote in the poll so I can have a number to call Jakes with so they won't be overwhelmed when we arrived.  - larry

Larry, take Fuzzy and me off the list. I replied to the poll but now I don't think we're going to be able to make it.

I spent a bit last weekend getting the 'Rocket ready for the parade, doing the wash and wax but expecting to have to touch things up today.  The past two days she's been at CF.  Last Friday I all of a sudden realized my inspection sticker was out of date.  Can you imagine the feeling of driving by about two million police officers in a parade with your sticker out of date?     So, I'll collect her this afternoon.

Meanwhile, I've been in a pleasant, recent Royal Grey MINI loaner from CF.  It's funny.  I love and hate the MINI's more compliant suspension:  Love, because I don't feel every pothole right up my backside.  Hate, because the car does wallow a bit more than an S and quite a bit more than my 2003 S with the suspension not really tweaked to runflats.

It's been fun to feel the sturdy naturally-aspirated engine as well.  It wants you to get your foot into it, no?  I can see that it would be more fun for Tidewater "around town" driving because it isn't quite as reactionary as the S' supercharged engine.  On the other hand, I love knowing that I can always say, "I've had it with this poop", souse down on the S' accelerator, and get out of some situations.

Kind of militates for one of each, eh?  002

Not to hijack, but I had a Cooper loaner.

I appreciated getting the loaner, but was happy to get my S back.

Hey Larry

I was wondering are we still not allowed to throw candy.  I was planning on going to BJ's to get the strawberry twizzlers that we throw every year.

Will we get in trouble and not be invited back next year?

Jeff,
No candy is allowed.  If there is any throwing or tossing as we did then the offending group will not be invited back for next years parade.  Sorry but the fear of litigation outweighs the whimsicle fun of tossing candy to the kiddies at a parade.  BUT you could use that money to decorate your MINI with streamers and ribbons or anything memorial day related or strawberry related.

Well I had fun ... and thank you Larry and Mrs Larry for lunch

the parade was scaled back this year and 4 me made for a better event ... less sitting around.

Was good to see some folks for the (probable) last time.

I'll be doing "Brits On The Bay" at Wesleyen Sat next but see the Seal Run as a 50/50 aty best.

If I don't see ya - bye ya'll

No one has posted pictures yet?!?!

Larry, thanks for organizing this event. It was a great time and provided a great introduction to Mini's for my mom who's visiting from Connecticut. It was nice seeing everyone and enjoyed the BBQ.
