I put flyers on every MINI I saw today (6 total), hope some show for the big day. I'll look for some more tomorrow on the way home from work.

I tagged 4 MINIs with flyers yesterday and today.  Handed 1 flyer to the driver of a yellow MINI cruizin' Atlantic Ave. in VaBeach a few minutes ago.

Posted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:32 am    Post subject: $3,636.47 Donation Given to Naval Special Warfare Foundation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On behalf of C7M, we would like to thank all the MINI / Mini owners, DC Metro, HRMINI, River City MINI, Philly MINI, and all those fine individuals that came from far and wide, for their participation in GWR 300. Not only did we set a new world record but we raised $3,636.47 for the Navy Special Warfare Foundation. We have set the bar in both categories and have a lot to be proud of. We cannot do this without your help and we greatly appreciate all the correspondence from this event. We also need to thank all of our event sponsors: MINIUSA, Checkered Flag MINI, Conklin's Irish Rover, CP Shuckers, VBPD, VB Sports Plex, Whalen Shift Machine, MC2 Magazine, and Ashley & Associates Insurance. Please mark your calendars for June 2008 when we will set the records again. Plans are already a foot for next year. We will have many more amenities and accommodations like food vendors and event items for everyone to take advantage of.

Sincerely and most grateful,

Randy Dedrickson

Yesterday the Brits made their challenge to the record recently established but the total mentioned in the posts varies from a few short to a few over.

That thread is mentioned the number of MINIs on a track. We weren't on a track... would it be two different records then?

What ever the record is it will be broken at next years Dragon. Should get at least 400 cars I assume.

We need to just blow that record away next year so the Brits don't have to sit around wondering who holds the record!

I thought I read that they did not want to attempt to break the record at the Dragon because there were too many logistical problems and events already scheduled.

I was wrong before though.  002

Mark told me that an attempt would be made next year. They wanted to do it this year but could not pull it off in time plus the $6,000.00 cost to fly the rep in was to much on short notice. I guess we'll see.
