As my runflats lose their tread I will be replacing them but would rather not replace all 4 at one time unless that is needed. Anyone every do this, maybe two at a time? What is the best method - runflats in the front only? back only?

There has been lots of discussion about this on other forums.
Boiled down version is if you just do commuting driving, it is not a big deal. It will change the handling of the car slightly, run a higher than normal pressure in the new tires till you get the second set of matching tires.

I am sure that the autocross guys will chime in soon, and give a better answer. But today is autocross day on the Dragon.  :D

You know, I used to go to mini2 and NAM daily before this site happened. I am too lazy to go elsewhere I guess. Thanks for the tips.

If you do decide to do this I would leave the RF's on the front at first but I would not recommend doing this for performance reasons. I think that would throw the balance off. I'm a performance driver only though so for street use and every day driving I think you would be ok. I know personnally I would not do that, I'd just "bite the bullet" and change all 4 at once. I'm about to do that with my own car.

If you keep them rotated they should wear at the same time and you would be better replacing them at the same time.

Well it happened. I got a nail in a tire and there is a slow leak. I just got a call from Frank saying it would be $425, which to me, for a tire is a ton of $$$. I am not really sure what to do. I think Costco could get all 4 done for under $400. I feel bad telling Frank to not do anything after he has helped me out in the past. Any advice?

If it's not in the side wall, take it to Pep Boys and get it repaired. I had a leak repaired in my MC runflats and it cost $25

That's why you don't go to the dealer for tires...

Don't know which tires you have but for example a Pirelli Eufori runflat for the s-lites is $185 From Tire Rack

Mike at Sports and Imports is a Tire Rack recommended installer - has gotten tires for me overnight and put them on the next day for a standard mounting charge.....

and I had multiple repairs to the run flats while I had them.  BUT, go to a good tire shop...the stiff sidewalls of the rf's can be a problem for the inexperienced.

Call Joe's Tires and ask for Billy. He will try to fix it for you. If he can't he can order a new Parelli runflat for $200.00. Other brands may be cheaper. Not sure which tire you have. That's a lot cheaper than the dealer.

I called joe's today and they said they will have info on runflats for me by monday. I am hoping my wife decides they are more trouble than they are worth since most retailers do not keep them in stock anyway, and lets me put 4 new non-run flats on the car. $500 for 4 ultra-high preformance 205/45/17 tires installed... not a bad price. Joe's customer service was very good too. I think I will be a customer for life. Don, I remember you speaking highly back on the Yahoo board so I searched it for a while today, so thanks for the tip on Joe's from a few months ago.

Anyone going on a drive soon? I no longer work weekends and am itching to go.
