I really like the new Toyota that Jim & Sherry bought. It's fun, gets pretty good mileage for a large vehicle, and it comes in bright colors with a white roof!
No matter what you get, even if you sell the MINI, you and Deb will always be part of the group. You just might have a hard time keeping up!

Let's not forget getting whipped(except you Alan 8) ) by Myron and his WRX Wagon :? Good roomy vehicle compared to the MINI.

Funny you mention the Xb... A friend has one and that thing is wicked huge inside... kind of like the last Harry Potter movie when they all pile in this little tent, but inside there is more than enough room. I might go check out the new one... I like the revised styling, and having the 2.4 Camry/TC engine isn't a bad thing. I've seen guys push those out to 350 hp without a lot of drama. Plus, I could sell the van and get one really loaded for under 20k easily, financing only a few thousand if need be. I'll go drive one soon and check it out!

I may be misreading this, so bear with me.. The Xb has a 1.5 liter motor making about 108hp.. but it is very light. (If you know how to get 300hp out of it, puhleeze tell me!!) It is huge inside, the floor is as low as the Acura GSR and the roof as high as our Cherokee. I can almost stand inside while strapping the kids in. It is a fine city car, but we still use the Jeep for road trips. Cheers, Alan Funny you mention the Xb... Alan, I was talking about the 2008 XB that just landed at dealerships, or is about to anyhow. It has the TC/Camry 2.4 liter. Greddy and Turbonetics both have turbo kits for this engine on hand. I have seen a turbo'd 1.5 in the first gen body on youtube, but it was pretty weird!
350 was shooting a little high.. I think low 300's is more realistic with that turbo kit. Whether it would actually be worth it or not... that's probably a whole new thread!

[/quote] Now that explains why the Band of Brothers DVD that I ordered from Netflex never showed up. I like the BWM wagon idea. An Audi wagon would be fun too. If you do sell the MINI, I would at least get something you could autocross. That would be my suggestion. Always keep it fun no matter how practical it has to be.

One suggestion that I have not seen here is the Mazda 3 five door. They offer a mazdasport version with over 250hp out of the box, and they have both sport and "luxury" versions for ride comfort As far as the kid goes, wait til he hits 15 before you sell, after that the depreciation really sets in (especially after they get a license).

The Mazdaspeed 3 is a great idea. It's fast, good looking, has a bit more room and you can autocross it.

I like the 3's, we were looking at one before Mandy bought her MINI. I think that is a great isea as they have a ton of room and are speedy little things.
