How was the sale?  What did you buy?  How tired are you?

Fabulous

Everything

EXHAUSTED!!!!!!

LOL - - - kidding.

The sale was really really great. I love the tradition of getting there at 2 in the morning, sitting on the sidewalk and talking to a HUGE and DIVERSE range of people who's commonality is being insane enough to line sit for a fabric sale!??! To my left, at the front of the line, were three kindly grandma's and a nurse who saves money making her own scrubs. To my immediate right was a quilting club of about 10 people and after them a family of at least 7-9 children (youngest on the hip, oldest 12-13 maybe) and their mother, father and older relatives of some flavor (we never did ask but got the distinct feeling they were some flavor of very devout Christian) The entire group was in homespun/homemade clothing so I think I can guess why they were there. But again - big diverse crowd, all of whom were bat-jelly crazy, lol.

I got there about 2 am and was 5th in line. About 4 am is when most of the line started filling out (just before 4 we had about 30-ish in line, after 4 it went up to better than 50) and by opening, once again, all the way to the end of the strip mall.

I got just about everything on my list except purse handles and grosgrain ribbon (the choices were thin on the ground, thin in the air) Laurie (F1 PLZ) and my friend Jeanine got everything they wanted and because we were 5th, 6th and 7th in the door, they got 2 of the only 4 cutting mats available - good for them!

I did spend MUCH MUCH less than I usually do. Typical is $370 - $400. This yeah I did only $160ish (applause please) But than back in April I did buy that ebay lot of 1900 yards so on one hand applause for coming in on the lowest ever total on the other side, smack to the head for even contemplating buying fabric after buying 1900 yards in April.

As for tired - oh my god you wouldn't have believed how tired I was yesterday! Friday I came home from work with every intention of getting in bed early - - DENIED! I finally got to bed at 10 pm but laid there and tossed and turned until 12-12:30 and by that time I was like "Well hell, even if I fall asleep right this second, which isn't going to happen, I get what, an hour's worth of sleep? Screw it, let's get up" So I got up, made coffee and was on line by 2. Store opened at 6, done shopping by 7:30, breakfast at Ihop at 8ish, back to my house to sew by 9:30. Actually managed to be productive for about 2 hours before I started sewing my own hand to things and decided it was time to call it. Jeanine took off to go see Ratatouille with her kids (and I imagine fell asleep in the theater) and I took a shower and  a 5 hour nap, lol! So yeah, big fun day. Can't wait for next year!!!!!! Any takers?!?!?!?

Peace,
R.
