After posting the events to the calendar I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe they'll have a class for MINI/Minis who like to Play.

What a very un-MINI-like thing to say....surely you are smart enough to realize that C7M is a club with members.  When it's time to schedule events, it's nearly impossible to find the "perfect date & time" for everyone.  C7M doesn't expect everyone to be able to attend every event, but as a NON-MEMBER, you surely DON'T expect C7M (or any other club for that matter) to schedule each and every event to fit the schedule of non-members?!

On the flipside, I have seen many "events" and "gatherings" planned by HRMINI...invitations are extended to CF staff, but EVERYONE knows that CF staff have to work until 7pm on Saturdays--yet, I can only think of 2 "gatherings" that took their working schedules into account and that's the dinner get-together at HK and the Coldstone get-together earlier this month.

GBWR - ACU-4
MINI/Mini Show - ACU-4
2nd Annual Pride - Langley
2nd Annual Ferry - Pungo

Club events I can understand, but charity events do need a little more research of what might be going on with your neighbors  for more participation/donations.

First off lets stop throwing mud and act like a community instead of opposing clubs.  Everyone has valid points but lets work them out instead of getting into a pping contest.

Erica, I see Johan's comment as poking fun and not meant the way it was taken although it did come off harsh, but your retort about scheduling events around "non-members" was equally harsh, and quite un-MINI-like as well, being a member of the site should have no bearing, we are all Miniacs.

It is impossible with all the local activities to accomodate everyones schedule, I always set-up the Cold Stone meets late on Saturdays in hopes of more southside/CF participation, and I know Randy and Simon made sure to start the GWR event late enough so that all the autoxers could join in.

As far as scheduling of the future events on autox dates, who knows.  Neither Randy or Simon autox, but Sean is a C7M member, so I am sure he gives his inputs so that we can have max participation.

So, lets get over the petty crap and motor on!!

Off of soap box...

HAHA, that was interesting!  Looks like I struck a mini nerve...HAHA

First off what I said wasn't intended to be harsh...take it as you will though.

2nd I do know how difficult it is to schedule things logistically, I do it everyday...that is why you need to look at everything you have on the calendar and plan well in advance!  Especially with some events that require max participation.  Sure some thing's come up in between but you need to deal with them as they come along.  With that being said...

3rd....Your right i am a NON MEMBER...Why should I have to pay to hang out with my friends???  Sorry I don't get that...Trust me I don't expect ANYTHING from c7m, so no issues there :)

Sounds like some folks here don't think there's room for more than one MINI club in Hampton Roads... I disagree. Back in SoCali, Marty and I were members of THREE very active MINI clubs. One of them required dues and we paid them willingly and happily. Part of the dues covered club liability insurance - not the same as auto insurance - so it was money well spent. (Club liability insurance is for that rare occurance when something happens on a run, like someone gets hurt by one individual, and the club as a whole is sued. The liability insurance protects all the members of the club from being sued individually, which can easily happen if a club doesn't have insurance.)

The one club we were most active in didn't require dues, but the 'leader' of the club and a handful other members paid for liability insurance for the club out of their own pockets. Marty and I would chip in a few dollars for our part, but we were never asked to do so. That club was a lot like HR MINI in terms of being more casual and 'non-organized' (no President, Secretary, etc.)

There are a lot of reasons to ask for dues; if a club is properly organized and has some legitimate goals in mind that require dues, there shouldn't be any problem with members paying them. If you don't like to pay dues to a club, don't join those kinds of clubs. But do realize that in some instances others are paying FOR you...

Peace,

Jenn

Sherry, I knew that! That's why I used the term 'non-organized'; it seemed to fit best! Long live HR MINI and it's anarchy!  :smt038  :smt049  :smt071  :smt072  :smt082
