Here's the graphics that Mike at AC designed for me.  I didn't want anything in the tribal/flames/dragons family, so I asked him for something "technical"-looking that wouldn't really stand out from the paint.  (Going for more of a low-contrast subdued scheme).

Mike installed them when I stopped in Phoenix for the night on my way to California, and did a great job.  I went ahead and had him put on the autocross numbers and class letters, even though it will probably be a while before I go autocrossing again.

I've gotten a lot of compliments on them, and I'm very happy with both the design and the installation.  The graphics are a metallic blue (actually, I think they're the same as MINI's "Hyper Blue").

Nice.
My first impression was a printed circuit board with a bit of Hawaiian shirt flavor 002  :smt023

I hadn't noticed the "Hawaiian Shirt" connection, but I see it now.  The blue colour, along with the round shapes in the graphics, do kind of look like the hyacinth flowers you see on Hawaiian shirts.

The graphics on the car are actually modifications of the "Borg" font from Star Trek: The Next Generation.  I thought they looked like printed circuit traces as well, until Mike showed me the font.  I hope no one out there speaks Borg - who knows what my car actually says!

He sure does - I was particularly surprised that he put everything on "dry".  If I were to ever apply any graphics, I'd wet the hell out of everything just so I had a change to re-position anything that went on crooked or wrinkled before I squeegeed it into place.  Obviously, he's done this a time or two...

Hey, been off the board for a little while...lots of stuff going on at home regarding my mother...

I've got a little problem folks.  Can't make the AC run and Mike owes me some stripes.  I've talked to him a few times about getting an install party here, at our place.  It would take about 8 or 10 installs to cover his expenses.  I was thinking it would possibly be early November.  Jenn and I were thinking of hosting a MINI BBQ.  I've got a big flat driveway, two canopies, and plenty of tools, for those that might want to tweak on things other than graphics.  Anyone interested?

If that won't work I guess I'll have to get an installer here to do the work and have Mike send me the stripes.  Does anyone know of a really good installer?  This will be a tricky install as it is a bonnet stripe that has to work those different angles. :)

Marty,

I am going up to get my stripes in DC. Too bad I can't drive 2 cars.  :( :(

If you need me to pick up your stripes from Mike let me know. I am going on Sunday.

Hope all is ok with your mom.

Miss you guys.

You folks are awesome...as usual!  Let me think on this a bit, and figure out what I can do.  I’m going back to Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I was born incidentally, to move my mom out of her house to an Apartment.  Her health is not very good but she is ok for now, thanks for asking.  I’m going next week while Jenn holds down the fort.
