That is awesome.  Yes I am glad you left plenty of room for expanding for growth. :P  That should hold you off until next summer.

I'm thinking we need to hermetically seal her in a mason jar to keep her from growing anymore! 119 Kidding -

But thanks - I'm hoping by next summer she's out of the pink/frilly/super intensive to make stage and she'll be happy with a burlap sack with arm holes  :P  But not likely, lol.

Peace,
R.

PS - for those wondering, Clarissa is the 4 1/2 year old daughter of my friend Jeanine. Clarissa has "appointed" me her "official seamstress/dresser/designer and all around make her what she wants, do what she says, cater to her every whim, treat her like a perfect princess" servant. Nothing in life like being put in your place by a 4 1/2 year old, *sigh* lol

That is really great.  I love the layers. I better not let Andria see it though or she'll be begging for you to be her seamstress too.  She already can't sleep without her Bratz blankie you made her. LOL!!! :P

Well, every princess needs a good seamstress to keep her in the latest fashions from Paris.  Good thing you aren't a jeweler, or she'd probably have you setting stones for her tiara!  LOL

 I think she can do that too. Have you seen any of the jewlery Riqui has made.

I don't think there is anything creative wise that Riqui can't do.

No, I didn't know that she can do that too.  I did learn that she can make glass blown vases and such, so it doesn't surprise me.

She is multi talented for sure.

I was digging through my sewing stash the other day and came up with some more Bratz fabric and since Andrea is the only kid I know that likes it, something else is on its way to her when I get it made. There is not a lot of fabric, mostly scraps and fat quarters - but I think I can make some sort of bag or satchel out of it (sorry not enough for jammies or a shirt.) We'll see what comes out of it. May not want to tell her yet - - not sure when it fits in the sewing schedule as I am on tap to do a Mod Holly Hobby outfit for little Miss Clarissa right now than our sewing club on Saturday.

Peace,
R.

ah crap - - is it time for full disclosure?

Alright, here is the list of things that I can do:
crochet (mostly afghans and baby blankets but can do scarves as well - no sweaters! the only one I ever made look like a Freddy Kruger reject)
macrame
jewelry making
Warm glass work (fusing; bowls, vases, jewelry)
stained glass windows
glass wind chimes
cross stitch
sew (quilt, clothes, purses, curtains, sock creatures, plushie animals)
draw (pen & ink, pastels, pencil, charcoal, and prismacolor marker)
make soap
Home repair (including but not limited to plumbing, hanging sheetrock, refinishing hardwoods, woodwork, refinishing walls/ceilings, painting, linoleum and I lay a mean frigging tile floor, countertop and backsplash - I do NO electrical at all, ever, under any circumstances - I am phobic about electricity)

Now for the list of things that I can't do:
sing (not even to save my life!)
dance (unless you think an epileptic seizure counts as "dance")
play any instrument, including drums (I have tried and tried to pick out something more than "ode to joy" and the theme to Jaws on the guitar but even the cats run and hide when I try. And who can't even play the drums? I mean, come on!)
Run (not even when chased!)
Math (forget about it! Thank god I married Scott!)
yard work (okay, I can PHYSICALLY do it, but dear god I hate it for so many reasons!)
Gardening (not only see above but add in the black thumb of death)
sit still (which explains list one)
change a poopy diaper (this is truly my Kyrptonite)
take a picture, from either side of the lens
Bake (I even burn the Pilsbury Cookie dough things that come in the rolls, slice and bake - it's the bake part that really screws me over)
play chess
whistle (I have tried and tried, I think my mouth is too big)
juggle (apparently it takes a level of grace and coordination I just wasn't born with)
snow ski (to be honest, never tried because I am scared sh*tless, lol)
any form of martial arts (see the lack of coordination and grace thing)

So as you can see, by comparing the things I can do to any list of useful skills - yeah, not so much, lol. But I can create pretty things to look at!

So everyone stop being impressed, lol.

Peace,
R.

At this point, I should say that she's also hell-on-wheels with a brazing torch.

When I was on deployment in 2000 and all the other guys were getting frantic e-mails from their wives every time the car made a funny noise or the dog yarked something up, I got this e-mail from Riqui:

Hey honey,
The hot water heater died today.  I cut the old one out, took it to the dump, went to Loewe's and got a new one and brazed it in this afternoon.  Everthing's good.

Love,
Riqui.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting there thinking "We own a brazing torch?!?!"
