Last Tuesday Gary and I met with Mike at the Boys & Girls Club in Newport News. These folks are in need of our help and I think this is something that will be both fun and helpful. So the tentative plan is to Rally on December 2nd 2007. Drive an 80+ mile route and make 12-15 stops picking up toys from various sponsors, Toys R Us, Walmart etc, and deliver them to the Club in Newport News. Each MINI/Mini owner can make their own donations of course and cash is always welcome as thier budget there is only 13% covered by the City. The remaining 87% of the 3 milllion dollars needed comes from fund raisers. Our plan is to visit all the Seven Cities of the area collecting from each area. Gary has driven the route and we'll post full details later. I wanted to get the date out there to allow planning and scheduling. Sounds like another nice event Simon.
Thanks for getting it out there early. The nice thing is events slow down some by then so hopefully more people will be free.
Will there be a single mule vehicle or will each MINI be sharing the load?

We will all share the load, which means we need alot of MINI/Minis. We will have donation bins at the pickup points for a few weeks prior to the run. We'll monitor those and if need be empty as required. It would be cool to have every MINI bursting with Toys when we arrive. Mike, at the club will have some of the Kids to help us unload. :D

Hello Wendy,
Nice job on the HRMINI website. Was talking with Sean yesterday regarding the Dec 2 MINI Toy Run for the Boys & Girls Club. How would you feel about doing a joint venture between HRMINI and C7M? Hope all else is going well for you.

Glad you can make it Randy  Gary are you coming to the dinner? We could all vote on what Trish's elf outfit should look like while she's not there. Just teasing Trish gonna miss you, but renewing vows is a pretty good reason to miss the dinner, IF you post pictures of you and the King. |
