We decided on a house in Mystic.  Almost brand new house not far from the highway, making it an easy commute.  Colchester turned out to be a little less quaint and a little more expensive than we had hoped, plus we'd have a 45 minute to work each way.  The Mystic area was our home for the 13 years before we moved down here in 2004, so this is a return home to our old stompin' grounds.

While we were here, we didn't forge that many friendships that will be lasting.  The area has such a transient population that we think most people in the neighborhood, though friendly, didn't really reach out.  However, the one group that stood out was this one.  I got the MINI last year because I wanted the car... finding the club was an unexpected bonus.  It was great having a collection of local friends that had nothing to do with work or with the schools.  Mrs. Fool wasn't sure that I'd want to leave yuz guyz.

Based on the number of MINIs that we saw in CT, Anne's been on me to start a Mystic Minis forum, since there doesn't appear to be one.  We'll see.

I'm back down here until about August 4th. Mrs. Fool and the Little Fools are up in CT getting the house together.  I'm open for suggestions is anybody's thingking about gatherring this weekend.

Sean,

Congrats on the house - Being from Stonington (Pawcatuck) I'm jealous, love to be back there. I'm sure you'll find the winding roads along the coast and through small towns enjoyable.  If you get a chance try out Stonington Village or Watch Hill Rhode Island. I'm sure your kids would like the Watch Hill merry-go- round (built in 1883). The horses are suspended, make riders feel like flying. The kids also collect metal rings with each pass hoping to get the "brass ring" which gives a free ride. Hope you can make it to the vineyards.

Congrats!!

As I mentioned before, I grew up near Hartford and have many many fond memories of the CT coast. Mystic is a beautiful area. I'm glad you've come 'home'! I know there's at least one MINI club in CT, but I think it's based in Hartford. There may be another one in Fairfield County, but even though they're right next door, they're worlds away!

Enjoy your new home!

You're only going to be an xbox live connection away.   :D   GH3 baby!

We'll miss you guys a lot!  I think it would rock if you got a nice little club going up there.  Mini Missionaries for peace, love, and the holy motoring spirit.

Hey Sherry

Didn't we have another couple move to CT about a year or 2 ago.  I remember them having a black dog and he was I guess the original unofficial mascot.  Can't remember the names, but wondered if they were close to mystic????
