We probably wont be going again this year either as it is Softball season again, which ends the second week of November. Hope everyone has a great time!! :D

Yes I'm torn between:
1. Missing the event so we can watch the flag/rifle line that Allison is in perform for football game and Saturday competition.
2. Having her miss that weekend of band duties since it has been ongoing starting 9/21.
3. Leaving her behind with friends and miss watching them for a weekend away.
I guess the big question is after doing this weekend after weekend would she even miss us :P
So I figured the first weekend in November she'll be ready for a break or us cheering them on old news. :lol: :lol: :lol:

When Don and Steph return from Colorado, I'm hoping to get together with them so we can finish planning this. I am of the opinion the first weekend in November will be best, and that we'll take a more southerly route to enjoy better colors at that time. My own participation is in question right now, mostly due to money concerns. We'll see. Standby folks!

Sean have you gone to the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley ? If not you might like it. Some really old cars but mostly motorcycles, that's why we love it. We are lifetime members. We always stay at the Apple Cover Inn , very inexpensive but not bad at all. Great area to visit !!!

I should have hotel information up today... I'm waiting for the information on group rates for us. I'm blocking 10 rooms, which should be sufficient for the masses. We're going to centralize our stay at the same location both nights this year, and we're going to be staying in Lexington, VA. Don has some fantastic routes planned with the aid of a new map he found. No rustic hotels this year... this one is reasonably new, has wifi, and all the other services that most people enjoy on a trip. Rates are not rock bottom cheap, nor are they the most expensive by any means. I found a site that had 5 reviews for this location, all were 5 star positive, including where the staff went above and beyond allowing a couple use of the pool after hours. More to follow...stay tuned!  |
