Hey friends!

Debbie and I are hosting young Lea from France this year from school. Well, we were speaking to the AYUSA rep about our upcoming orientation, and we were informed that somehow tomorrow there are 5 foreign students arriving from around the world, that they don't have host families for. (I honestly have no idea how the hell they even get sent without families to take them... but there you go.)

Anyhow, I have no idea who these kids are, or where they come from, but I know that they need families who can provide room and board for the school year. The kids will have their own money for other expenses. They also should have a decent grasp of english, as well as having been good students in their own countries.

If you can please ask around to people you know at church, work, and friends, or of course if you are interested and able yourself, please let us know and we'll put you in touch with the right people. We're also happy to support you in the process here locally.

So far our experience has been very rewarding, and our own student is a delight and a great addition to the home.

Thanks Wendy!  I spoke to our regional representative.  She told me that the 3 of the boys had families to host them, but that the families pulled out of the program after the boys had already paid for their tickets to fly here.  The last two of the five boys were placed in temporary homes knowing they would need to find a permanent placement.

We're enjoying hosting very much.
