MotoringFile.com has a pic & write up of the 2007 MCS and Cooper. Worldcarfans have a the best photo yet of the upcomng 2007 Cooper S. For the first time we can clearly see the new grille (differing from the chrome grille on the Cooper. The photo also features new wheels, new center exhaust design, the previously mentioned updated headlights with the integrated turn signals, revised hood scoop, new side grilles and indicators on the a-panel, and also shows the next generation MINI in a brighter color than black! Except that is for the unpainted front bumper which will be body color on the final production car Link www.worldcarfans.com/spyphotos/6060525.002/6060525.002.1L.jpg

I don't like the new bonnet. They took out all the lines and curves that make it so appealing . :?

Methinks that part of the problem is that it's red. Hyper Blue would look much better :D
That being said, looks like the deep troughs inside of the headlights are still there, but center hump may have been flattened out. It's hard to make out the new headlight design here, but I haven't cared for other picuters showing the more swept back design.
I'm not a big fan of the grill they're showing here. Hopefully the chrome slat design will still be available - to me, it's part of the signature look, and it shouldn't be tampered with (apologies to Merlin). I'm still losing some sleep over the body colored slats that came with my MCS - I've been toying with the idea of putting chrome in there on mine.
Overall though, it still looks like a MINI - I'd love to see a side-by-side though.

Two colors for 2007. Comments anyone? MF Exclusive: Laser Blue & Nightfire Red Through one of our sources we?ve obtained the first image of two new colors set to debut on the 2007 MINI. In the picture above are Laser Blue and Nightfire Red. Also seen are Hyper Blue and Chili Red for a comparison. Both new colors are metallic and both harken back to a couple of classic MINI colors once seen on the current generation car: Velvet Red and Electric Blue. It may be worth noting that the image doesn?t mean that these two colors will be replacing Hyper Blue or Chili Red. While it?s unclear if Hyper Blue will be staying in the color palette for the R56, we do know that Chili Red will continue on. Our sources have also told us to expect British Racing Green to make an appearance on the R56 color palette. And yes, a non-metallic black is rumored to be back as well. Reportedly three other new colors for the R56 are named Mellow Yellow, Sparkling Silver and Lightning Blue. In all we can expect seven new colors for the 2007 model year.

Speaking from a HB owner, the Nightfire Red looks pretty damn sharp.

I am liking the turn signal being moved to the headlight. I am not a big fan of the metallic colors. I would like more primary colors, especially jet black. Pleeeeeze.

those look like the prototype headlight they used on the first MINI's design and might be a carry over. Originaly they had to take id down from there so the xenon would work.

It's about Darn time they put a 6 speed in the MC. We have been needing a 6th gear for a long time. 8)

I'm not liking MINI's moving the turn signal into the headlight for a couple of reasons:
1) It means you have to look into the headlight to see the turn signal. First flash... double check.. look into the headlights, ack! your night vision is flashed. Hasn't that occurred to anyone else yet? It's rough on tired eyes at night. Leading to...
2) Everyone else is putting turn signals into headlight enclosures right now, which is why I've already been able to sample this design on the road and discover that it is hard on the eyes. Given that other cars are already doing it, it makes ID'ing a new MINI tougher at night. Currently, you've got a cluster of four lights to ID with.
What do you think?

I'll have to see those lights up close before I could say. I have a hard time seeing anything at night anyway so I wouldn't be able to tell if it were a MINI, bus, train, or aircraft approaching. :D

I love the interior. I have read a lot of complaints about it, but I know when I see it in person I will wish I had it. Did you all see this? http://www.newmini2006.co.uk/Won't be long until we have a similar site here (I hope)
