I'm one of "those" people that don't own a MINI!

Thanks Angela for another amazing party!  We had a fantastic time and we were all soooo surprised to see that everyone who lives in Norfolk was in line to see the pretty lights.   102  Who knew?

At that point, we, meaning The Girlfriend and I, chose to weigh our options and we voted on putting the kids to bed.  As opposed to hearing them, or me, whine about the traffic, lack of bathrooms in our car or the sound of Fletcher snoring in his booster seat, we opted to come home.   023

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year to all....... and good night.   111

What traffic ?  027  Sorry about the tire squealing but that guy behind me honking was getting on my last nerve.
Had a great time though !!!  My left calf is much larger now though...  069 Dinner was great. Nancy and I had a wonderful time. Just couldn't seem to get my butt out of the chair and walk around.

Thanks Ang  icon_biggrin

I had a good time, was glad to see you all again

(even tho my twice-baked potato revealed itself to be an ice-cold once-baked potato  icon_rolleyes .... )

...and yea, when I saw those 2,563  101 cars waiting in line to see pretty much the same thing all my neighbors have on their front lawns, I decided to call it a night.

Actually I figure the MINI group ought to be finally in there right about now...... lol  044

Thanks Angela!!

Kids and I had a great time!  It wasn't me honking - it was the guy behind me!  Talk about wishing the car had a bathroom!  Thank HEAVEN there was a head on the way in; darn near ran off into the woods with the car in line and my kids in the back.  ...and by spending some time pulling out to the bathroom, I actually got back in the MINI line where my money was!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!  Steve K

Steve K. - I know it wasn't you - had to be a non Mini owner  icon_biggrin - Glad you got back in line at the right time too. Thank goodness the kids could wait till the restrooms appeared !! I must have been the first one through in the line. They did NOT believe me that someone back in the line had my money - Didn't think that would fly , bet they've heard that one before.

Thanks  023 for putting this together Angela.  It was a great time had by all I'm sure. 111 We've only been to a hand full of other Mini gatherings and I believe I only could count three other people I'd seen before.

Someone please 055 post some of your pics.  I forgot  icon_frown the good camera at home and didn't  icon_cry get any pics to enjoy.

Angela, sorry about the confusion  105 while trying to actually get back in line at the lights.  After you walked back from our car we figured that the other Minis would pull up in front of us by ones and twos to fit back in.  We honestly thought that truck was trying to cut in.  075 When he gave up and pulled in behind us he started flashing his high beams on and off 075 like crazy.  My son in the back seat thought we'd ticked  076 the guy off royally and feared for his life.  I got out of our car and walked back to his truck to explain 094 that we were trying to get the other Minis back in line with us and I thought he was trying to cut in.  He was very upset, 076 so sorry about the confusion.  102 We didn't 009 realize he was with of us not being in a Mini.  So much for staying in the back of the line and not causing any trouble. 102 Please accept our sincere 055 apologies to all involved in this little mishap.

Missed the "mishap"  I just thought you were very  brave to block the traffic to get us all together.   icon_razz

Hope to get to say hi to you and family at the next event.

Merry Christmas 111

We're really glad everyone had a good time.  And the line at the lights moved pretty darn fast for as long as it was. Next time I'll have the none HR vehicles just move in front of us in the line so people don't get so ticked off.  Hind sight, right?  LOL! Next year we'll do the Newport News lights.  See everyone in mid Jan. for the Richmond road trip to Beef O'Brady's.

Merry Xmas!!! Happy New Year!!

Excellent pics BabyBMW.  023 Thanks so much for sharing. 038  I'd like to save two of the ones from the parking lot and two from the dinner if you don't mind.  I'll check back.

Well the count down to Christmas morning is on.  038  Merry Christmas to you all and may everyone have a joyful and safe holiday with family and loved ones.  111

Guys

I think it was absolutely amazing that we had all of the Mini's in a line when we got to the ticket booth. If you believe that last night's automotive manuevering was chaotic, try cruising with the Miata club. This group looks like syncronized swimmers in comparison to them!

I was amazed at how we kept everyone together until right towards the end.  023 Our leader did an excellent job 023 with the lights  038 and keeping it at a safe  038 speed.  I think it was the best organized convoy thus far. 023
