Here are a couple of pictures of me flogging my MINI around VIR.

Here I am just before going under the bridge.

This shot is apexing turn three. I can only wonder what is going through Lelane's mind.

I have more pictures coming so I'll change them periodically.

I didn't say I hated it, I said it scared me.

No, it's a typical U.S. LHD version. The picture at 14 is deceiving but if you look at the one from Oak Tree you'll see the wheel on the left. In the 14 picture that's my friend Eric who came out to visit from NC. In the turn 11 picture (it's kind of dark) you'll notice the white helmet of Lelane holding on for dear life.

<----- Now my Classic is RHD. Someday when it grows up I'll put it on the track too.

Nice snaps Roy, I sure do like those wheels too. BTW, what type of tires are you running?

Thanks

I'm running Kumho MX's. I was pleasently suprised at the amount of grip they give on the track. They are very predictabe and let you know when they are about to let go.

Roy you know #3 was one of the fun ones. Don't you remember it's #14 that scared me every time.  119  icon_mrgreen

Lelane - work with me here. I'm trying to make it sound exciting.

Here's a question a lot of people here can relate to. In 100 words or less, how would riding around VIR "at speed" compare to the Dragon?

You should have been watching turn ten this past weekend.  103

There are two new rows ready for planting on the outside of ten. That was an intresting ride.  119

Okay Roy, Essays are not my thing at all. But I will give it a shot.

This month I went to VIR as a guest. This meant that if I had the chance I could ride with an instructor and I could attend any of the class room sessions that I liked. There were so many places to go watch and to take pictures. (Which I still owe you Roy). And I never in a million years thought that it would be as much fun as it was just watching everyone. But the real thrill was getting to ride in a MINI with a really good driver. The first trip around I was scared to death and held on for dear life. But as we kept going it  became less scary and more exciting each turn. I have been to the Dragon and as some of you know I can hold my own on the mountain roads. (Right Sean) The Dragon is fun but I have more fun on the roads around there than I did actually on the Dragon.

Driving VIR is so much fun. I was only able to drive it during the lunch parade laps with a pace car but even then it was really exciting. I have every intention to going back and driving it again and again. The cost may be more than most want to spend but in my book it is worth every penny and then some.

Okay so that is 260 words, see I told you essays were not my thing.

Thanks Lelane, I'm glad you had a good time.

I'll be going back to VIR the weekend of April 5/6 for another HPDE school. I'm going out on a limb here but I'll offer a ride on track to any member that wishes to come out and see what a track event is all about. It would be a good chance to get a sample before the Phil Wicks event. I will have six sessions (three each day) and two are reserved for my students so I can only accommodate four people. I would like to limit it to people that have never been on track before (autoX doesn't count). It will be, without question, the best roller coaster ride you have ever had in your life.  023

I should probably add that when ever I have a passenger in the car I dial it back just a little to insure there are no agricultural adventures.
