That one's been around for a while.  It's supposed to be inspired by the HR Giger monsters from the movie Alien.  It's a one seater---the entire driver's seat slides out on hydraulics to the rear.

It's very icon_eek 118 , but it makes you want to see Sigourney Weaver going all  066 on a GTI.

I have to file that one in the "To each his own" bin.

Looks like a lot of hard work and good craftmanship went into it, but you'd have to pay me to own it, sit in it, or even be seen with it.

I'm curious to know how well the stereo plays.  One thing about mine... having a permanent top makes for great acoustics, since Mini's are completely open (save the boot cover that goes up when you open it).

I actually dig the paint job.  Sometimes I wish neon lights were legal in this state (though that does not really stop people from putting them in).   icon_mrgreen

JJF -- iirc  it's got megawatts of Alpine equipment in it, to the point where it could probably cause enough ground vibration to bring down small buildings.

Here's some views of the interior & notes on what it's like to sit in the darn thing, there's a link at the bottom of the page to an interview with designers/constructors:

http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-vfA2oihhQ4P/customcar/scene/20040407/alpine_mini.html

The biomorphic stuff is a a little over the top 118, but I really like the concept.

Thanks for the posted link.  I forwarded it to my bud who sold me my '02 MCS.  He should get a kick out of it as well (especially if he's standing next to it).   icon_mrgreen

Now that looks like a fun MINI to drive. Wonder how well it would do on the track.

It was on the cover of a Crutchfield catalog a few years ago. Just Alpine's annual show car.

017 I'm still puzzled by the thought that the sound system takes so much priority over the car itself these days.

I've seen too many young people put so much emphasis on the system, and yet they have a ride in desperate need of an oil change, and haven't got a clue.  102

Can anyone explain it to me so I can better understand when this brain fart happened  102

I too appreciate the paint work, but after seeing the drivers position once loaded into the car, I'll have to agree with TJ.
