Hey Ladies (okay, guys too),  I've been wanting to try out the "make & take" food place in Chesapeake, just off the intersection of Greenbrier & Eden Way.  You go there and prepare your meals then take them home & freeze them, then cook them when you're ready.  It cost about $65 for 5 entree's that serve 2-3 people.  That's only $4.33 per serving!  It only takes about an hour to prepare 12 meals.  Plus you don't have to go to the grocery store!!  026  And you are even given free appetizers & beverages while you are preparing your meals.

We can set up a private party (up to 16 people) and we can have the place to ourselves.  It looks really simple.  They have a different menu each month and 17 different entree's to choose from.

Here's their website....check it out and let me know if you'd be interested in attending if I set up a private party.  https://www.socialegourmet.com/Default.aspx

UPDATE!  UPDATE!  UPDATE!
April 21, 2008 @ 6pm

Sociale Gourmet
836 Eden Way, Suite 144
Crossways Center
Chesapeake , VA 23320

We’re having a party at Sociale Gourmet in Chesapeake and you’re invited.   If you’re not familiar with Sociale, it is a new upscale make and take business in Greenbrier.  This is where you assemble meals to bring home to stock your refrigerator or freezer.  They are great to have available for those times when you’re running behind or late getting home from work.   You just have to pop it in the oven or put in on the stove top because Sociale does all the shopping, prepping and cleaning for you.  It’s that simple!

You can prepare anywhere between 5 and 12 entrées for your families to enjoy in only an hour.  They will even have food samples for us to munch on.  Wine is available for us to purchase to make it an evening to remember.  Side dishes, desserts and bread are also available in their Express Freezer.   There is a gourmet retail shop with some great gift ideas, kitchen gadgets, salsas, mixes…etc.   Just for attending, you’re eligible for 10% off anything in the retail shop to use that day or for up to 10 days after.

To register for our private party, please go to:  http://www.socialegourmet.com/.   You will need to register to pre-select your entrée’s at least 7 days prior to the event.   This will assure us that they will have everything ordered, stocked and ready for us.

To register:
•   Go to the Website >www.socialegourmet.com
•   Go to “Place an order”
•   Select “Chesapeake” as the kitchen
•   Select the number of entrees
•   Create an account if it’s your first time.
•   Select  HR club MINI  on April 21st on the calendar
•   Enter  Angela  as the hostess name and  MINI  as the password
•   Select  your entrees,  side dishes  and desserts
•   Enter Payment Information
As soon as you have registered, you will receive an email confirmation.  Please also let me know if you are planning on joining the party.

I'd be interested - do you know if they have a smaller meal plan for individuals?

They have large serving size entrees (6) & small serving size entrees (3-4).  You can split it up even smaller when you get home to make it individual size entrees (before you freeze them).

That sounds like a great idea. As long as the dates are good with my schedule I'm in. Things are really crazy for me on the weekends until after Mother's Day. But I will see what I can do when you guys decide a date.

Tuesday and Wednesday nights are probably the worst nights for me, but otherwise, I'm generally available.

Okay, once I get back on my feet (kidney stones, ouch!)  I'll do some calling around to a couple of these places and see who offers the best deal for private parties & who gives the most bang for your buck. I'll pull together some dats and probably just add a poll to the first post (if possible).

I'll keep you posted.  023

I work near the Social Gourmet (but I live in Newport News).  So I'd LOVE to do this if it gets scheduled after work one day (after 5pm) Any day except Thursdays - I have school that night.

I have looked at the other places like this mentioned and just keep putting off going.  I really like the menu at Social Gourmet - Strawberry Margarita Chicken!!!
