I have sersiously been bit by the quilting bug and it all began because of the St!tch!n' & B!tch!n' gang.  109  I have even joined the Tidewater Quilters Guild, am making blocks that go into Purple Heart Quilts that are sent to Germany and given to our brave men and women who have been wounded in the war (was even in the Clipper & Beacon, because of this), I buy the lucky buck fabric and creat a 12.5 inch square with the fabric, participate in the Block of the month and over-all have fun meeting new people.  Presently I am working on a quilt called a One Block Wonder and it is exciting.  I have sewn 112 hexagons (approx 7 inch wide/high) and tomorrow night at class will start putting them together.  It has been so theraputic for me. As my life was unraveling I was learning to create.  Thanks for each and every one of you who has played a part in this for me.  058

Laurie,

That's awesome!  I wish I could say that I have kept up on my sewing, but alas, I have not.  I still haven't put together the "quilt interrupted" that I showed you.  It is sitting in a bag until such time that I have a group of friends together to help me put the layers together.  I have, however, learned to hem pants for my son who needs at least 4 inches removed from every pair of jeans/slacks he owns.

I did take up a silver jewelry making class.  I completed my first piece.  I'll have to post a picture when I have one.

Well you are all better than me. I bought stuff to make some quilts and never did anything with them.

Laurie I am so glad that you have found a good group of people to spend time with creating for such a wonderful cause. I really don't have time to go to something like that but if I can help you by cutting things out please let me know.

Deb when ever you are ready give me a call and we will finish that quilt. And I want to see that jewlery.

Trish can you make my doggies some beds?  075  icon_lol

I'd be more than happy for another go at it; my dog just likes to claw at the bed (probably needs a quilt instead) he's like a cat, he'll walk in circles around the thing and that is essentially how it fell apart; MUCH wear and tear! LOL

Cool! It will have to wait a little while. It will be about mid May before things slow down for me. but if you let me know what I need I will get things together. My babies are going to love this! 038

I'm always up for a gals get together and pinning, especially now that strawberries are coming in season - hint -hint Deb.  Trish - got a flyer from JoAnn's Fabric and starting Sunday they are having a 1/2 off sale for Home decor Fabrics.  This would be the better type of fabric for dog beds - tougher/stronger - duck cloth is always a good option.  Thanks Lelane for the offer for cutting - there's a gal in the guild who does all of that - all we do is take the packages and sew the blocks together.
So it looks like we'll be st!tch1n & b!tch!n at Deb's soon.  Give us a time and date. 110

Marshmallow fluff it is!  Not so sure about the pinning at my house.  I don't have a table to work on and I have too many pets to work on the floor.   It's not that I can't put them outside, it's the dog hair and cat hair that's all over the place.  Not to mention that I really don't want to drag my bottom up off the floor.  But if someone else can host, I'll bring the fluff.

I don't have a table but I do have a coffee table that we could try to pin on. Oh wait I do have a table that I can put together to work on but it is kind of small and is round. Would that work?

Plus I have dogs too but once everyone gets here they will calm down and do their own thing.

Unless you guys want to wait until July and we can have it at my new place where ever that is going to be.  icon_lol

Lelane - where are you going to move to?  I have been collecting boxes for my forthcoming move (that is when this house sells) so if you need boxes let me know.  I know weekends are tight you - how about Thursday, April 24th?  We could order in pizza, have strawberries & fluff and get Deb's quilt pinned.  Let me know if that works for you - guys.

Let me get back to you on that too.  It's been so busy most of the time for me too.  I have to check everyone's schedules to be sure.  If I don't get it done until the summer, I'll be ok with that too.  Things should slow down for me after June.

I'm not quite sure yet, I'm still looking at this point. There is one in Norfolk that I am looking at I should know something in the next couple of days.

The 24th is okay with me if it works for Deb. I know that things are crazy for her now too.

Ben will be out of town that weekend.  I am not sure how much Frank will want me to be away too.  But I will check with my mom.  Her house is the one place he doesn't fret about staying for awhile.
