I have to go get my prescriptions but wanted to throw this out before I go. We need a meeting. BAD! Please throw out some ideas for where to meet and when but let's have it this Saturday (as in 7/5/08). Thanks!
Jeff

If I'm available, I'd be glad to stop by and help out.

I need to stop by CF to get some touch-up paint (dang those pesky rock chips) on Saturday. I'm up for anywhere on the Southside. Any kind of mom-and-pop breakfast joint is a plus!

Please, not ice cream again... I know it's summer and all but I find it very hard to resist and it's not good for me as I'm diabetic. Those places also tend to be noisy because a lot of kids are there and we need to be able to hear each other this time. Any other suggestions?

Hey, I'm not on your planning committee or anything, but if I can make it I'll try to figure out if I can help out with something. My son and I will be out doing the Trikke thing (Jeff, remember that thing I was riding around on Saturday at Jenro's? I'm addicted and bought a few) Saturday, so I'll try to work around that and of course the Hubby's car gatherings. I'll try to keep my eye on this thread for more info.

I'd love to help. I've just never seen the meeting notices with enough time. Until now. I've got 10 years of large event planning experience (Bay Days, Operation Smile, stuff like that) I haven't done anything in a while since I've had my head in the books for my MBA for the last 3 years. I'm free now and ready to get involved again. Anyway...how about lunch at the Surf Rider in Hampton: http://www.surfridergroup.com/Blue%20Water.html? Or that Chinese Buffet in Wards Corner? Either place I think we can get a table away from the other patrons so we can talk and hear each other. Wherever it is, it has to be smoke free for me to participate. Other than that I'm flexible.

Donia (Mini S Pilot) mentioned meeting at Jenro's in another thread here so we could combine a C7M GWR500 planning meeting with a farewell get-together for Phillip and his wife. A strong Mini showing there would be awesome! I've spoke to Mike, the owner of Jenro's about sponsoring for the GWR500 and it would be nice to show him what a cohesive community we are and that we help those who help us. As Donia also mentioned in the other thread, there is a Dairy Queen near by for those who love ice cream. As an aside, any one who wants to help plan the GWR500 is welcome to attend and present their ideas for the event. Chilidog's Better Half, I think Jenro's is smoke free but if not, we can meet outside. I would really love to have your help and experience with the event. I would say that I'm in over my head but I think that would be a huge understatement. FWIW, I'm still in a loaner. It's a very nice 07 red S Cabrio. It's no Tug but at least it's not the green turd...

I'm with the suggestion of merging these two events. I posted my suggestions in the other thread. Jenro's or DQ. DQ allows for both ice cream and other food choices.

Jenro's also has regular food and I dare say it's probably better than DQ's.

Check the glovebox...let me know what's in it...it might be the same Cabrio I was in week before last! (There might be paperwork from two different loaner agreements & one CD....plus the iPod cord.) Sounds like a plan. What time? Any time before 2pm or after 7pm is good for me. We'll be at a pool party in VA Beach between 2 and 7. we could leave a little early if needed. and where is Jenros? I found a Jenro's Coffee House on Independence - is that the place? If so that works out great for me. I emailed them to ask about the smoking situation. I tried to reregister at C7M but accidentally clicked the button that says I was born after 1995...doh... anyway, now I can't log in. help? I registered as "cdsbetterhalf" because my username here is "too long and contains forbidden characters" I dunno..I kinda like the forbidden characters

It's at the corner of Haygood Rd and Independence Blvd. I just made a post in the other thread about it and the general consensus seems to indicate that we will meet at Jenro's and then head over to Plaza Aztec for some Mexican food. P.S. I authorized your account on C7M. I don't know about forbidden characters. That must be something that the new board defaults to. P.P.S. EVERYONE is welcome to come to the planning meeting and, in fact, are encouraged to do so!

You didn't post a meeting time here. May I suggest a meeting time say a little earlier than things start popping at Jenro's with the car gathering. That way there will be less confussion during the meeting and we can get the food thing taken care of in time to enjoy the Jenro's experience. Just my 2cents!
