Went outside to get the newspaper off the porch...looked over at Schultze, dropped the newspaper and SCREAMED!

I don't feel very well at all...

Gold metallic spray paint on the passenger side, including tire, powder-coated wheels and the rotor.
Unknown substance with tiny pieces of grit on the driver side.

OMG!.  I can't believe your neighbor is such a hoodlum!  I hope you called the police.  If it is who you suspect it is, they should be able to get a warrant and search the house for the spray paint.

DON'T DO ANYTHING!

Spray paint doesn't have any hardener in it so if you use the right stuff it'll literally wash right off. Some prep solvent will take fresh spray right off. Any store that sells paint supplies will have "wax & grease" remover. Wax will do it, but you'll work your rear off. Come by the shop (Maaco Hampton) tomorrow morning if you can and we'll get it right off for ya.

Well said Dale. DO NOTHING let a pro handle it and all will be well. If you can't get by Dales shop, feel free to stop and see me at Stans. I'll take care of it for you.

Then we can see what can be done with the turd that did it  093 076 094

There is certainly no excuse for this kind of behavior and since I know how you feel for your Shultze I'll say a prayer for your BP Erika.

But I'll mention that it does vindicate my position as one of the few people in the world who uses their garage for the parking of cars.  My 3 car garage contains 3 cars most nights leaving those in need of entertainment to seek out my neighbors or deface my garage door...or do the Mr Bubble in the pool thing!

Were I stil there I'd try to help remediate .... hopefully most can be removed w/out damage to the finish.  But a good buff can remove a lot of booboos too.

Oh Erika I'm so sad about Schultze  022

To think we just saw you the day before.  Time to set up some kind of taping for the wee hours of the night.  What goes around does come around it just takes too long sometimes. Maybe you can leave some message on Shultze like "Smile you're on camera" .  No never mind it would be better to catch whoever on tape  in action so there can't be any denial.

Good Luck to you in catching the low life(s)  icon_evil

OMG!!!! Do you have any clue who did this? How horrible! Just looking at it I can sympathize with feeling punched in the stomach. I don't know that I would do much better, probably worse, in your shoes. Go get the little sh*ts who did this!

Erika, Harry and I got Schultze cleaned up/off pretty good.  Whatever they put on the driver's side of the car appears to have liquefied the clear coat and then it re-hardened.  It kind of looks like hardened water on a mediocre wax job.  Does that make any sense?  Either way, that side of the car and the bonnet are going to need to be repainted IMHO.  The passenger side fared much better.  The driver's side A pillar cover will need to be replaced too.  The chemical they put on the paint on the driver's side etched the crap out of it.

I cannot thank Jeff & Harry enough for their help...

Jeff arrived somewhere around 10am and Harry arrived awhile later...

We kept at it...even during the intermittent showers we had throughout the day...

Friendships became stronger, that's for sure!

There's a lot on Schultze that will need to be repaired/repainted/replaced.  I'll take more pics in a little bit & hopefully I can get a good angle to show the damage that was done to the clearcoat.

From 10 feet away, it looks great...but if you catch it at just the right angle, you can see the "pattern" in the clearcoat from whatever chemical was used.  It ATE the A-pillar on the driver side.

The police have stepped up patrols and Robert is making arrangements for motion-sensor lighting to be installed.  I checked on Schultze every two hours last night...

I've already made the decision to wait on the repair work until after the garage is built--I have a feeling that the punka$$ is waiting for me to get Schultze repaired and then they'll strike again.

I'd take a page out of BartMacks book and get a night vision camera hooked in to a DVR system... he spent maybe a grand... but damn if he didn't catch the little turds that threw a brick through his 3 series widow.  Worth EVERY darn penny if you ask me...  at least then you could sleep at night, or only check the tv that the camera is tied to... and call the cops without alerting the hoodlums they're on the way.

Beach   Audio - Linksys Wireless Webcam

This is my suggestion.  They offer a wireless webcam for $90.99.  You can set it up to broadcast on the Internet and access it anywhere in the world.  All you need is a broadband connection.  I can help you set up a dynamic DNS name (as most broadband ISPs periodically change your IP address, unless you purchase a business account), and I can set up your router to allow the connection through for you to view whenever you want from anywhere when you are away from home.
