I was having issues with my passenger side window not working. Thought I was going to have to spend money to get it fixed. Found this solution on another message board (mini2.com). I thought I would share the solution. I couldn't believe it, it actually worked  038

Solution:

1. With the car in aux or on -- sit in the passenger seat with the door open.
2. Press and hold the window switch up
3. Immediately, while holding the window up toggle -- with your fist -- punch / hit three inches above the large speaker -- three times. <bang bang bang>. Don't be easy on your MINI.
4. Let go of the toggle switch.
5. Press and hold the toggle switch up for 5 seconds.
6. Lower the window completely.
7.With the door still open, raise the window completely. The window should have now "re-indexed" itself.

I'm one of "those" people that don't own a MINI!

I have been having the same problem off and on with my passenger side window. I'll save this info and give it a try the next time this happens. Mine has always fixed itself so far, but it usually seems to take a day  093

I just stumbled on this. Does anyone know if this works on the driver's window? I've been having re-occuring problems since June. Once a dealer reset it, the other times it fixed itself, but it may take weeks!

Thanks.

017 017 017 My sticking window has always been the passenger side window, but this trick has worked for me several times. Why not give it a try....Don't be shy either, give it a good hit !  and please post your results.

I believe I had to do this once or twice with my old '02 MCS.  Yes, it does work.

you know i dont know if banging on the door really is a good idea. couple of weeks ago i closed my door rather harshly(wind combined with me closing) and it blew my speaker. i took the door apart and its just a cheap paper cone. hte speaker was fine before the incident. matter fact hwen i got in the car and started driving you could hear it rattle. just my 2 pennies.

It has to do with the electric window motor getting stuck.  You want to make sure to tap at your door exactly where it's located.  There should be a few threads floating around on NAM that discuss this topic.
