Greetings all:

I fell in love with MINIs back when they first were being advertised in about 2001 or so.  Unfortunately, I didn't need one at the time (had plenty of other cars) and later, having a couple kids required having a second vehicle that could handle carseats in the case of emergency.

Well, when we finally had our fourth child, my wife told me that it would be unreasonable to have a second car that could hold 4 carseats (hers already eats enough gas for three or four cars!) so I could finally buy myself a MINI.

I found one from a seller in Indiana and just drove it out here to Chesapeake yesterday...loving (nearly) every minute of my 13 hour drive.  I was really pleased to become the new owner of a well taken care of 7000-mile young 2005 Cooper S with some great added extras and in just the color I was looking for (chili red with black stripes).  I'll post up a pic of it now that it's clean from the drive.

Glad to be here, and hope to see you all around!

Dave

Congrats on the Mini purchase Dave! :023

You'll have to join all of us in one of the upcoming Mini events and show it off.  045  Hey, if Saturday's not too soon you can be counted in the GWR 500.  You can read about it on this forum as well as a few others.

Oh, just wanted you to know that Chili Red is the fastest color. 038

All:

Thanks for the welcome!

I tried to talk my wife into going this weekend to the GWR 500, but given that I just got back from the better part of a year overseas, I got the "maybe next time..."  ::sigh::  102

Here's a pic I took of my MINI this morning.  Just beautiful... 055 055

And finally, the inside.  The red and black seats were the selling point for me.  023

Nice car and welcome. You'll have a lot of fun with this nut crowd.

Welcome to the MINI/Mini family Diamond Dave  039. I'm a Richmond/River City MINI's nut and hope to see you on some get togethers.

P.S. CR may be fast and BRG may turn the best, but Dark Silver stands out in the crowd 045
