Well hello all. Soon to be a new Mini owner. Just special ordered my DarkSilver MCS! The wait is going to be horrible. That is ok will give me just alittle more time with my WRX. Giveing up one toy for another :cry: Hope to get a chance to meet you all. I enjoyed the Suby group in the area. Hopeing to find the same here.

welcome to the group (also known as the HR dark silver MINI club). wrx's are hella cool. i think you'll enjoy your mini too though, different but good. like other's have said, hope to see you around at an autocross or social meet or drive or something.
can you give us the skinny on the spec list? (and don't be shy with pictures)

You know, when I look back, I think I really enjoyed the wait. I kept a journal and went for test drives in CF's testers every week.

I too ordered my MINI back in Feb. the wait was exciting/nerve wracking at the same time. But you know what they say, All good things come to those who wait, and the wait is worth it. It is like Christmas Day when your baby arrives.

I'm curious, why are you giving up your Suby?
I'm also waiting for a DS Mini I ordered on 11 May 06. It'll arrive in two weeks. In the mean time I'm driving a Suby WRX/STI. It is a FAST car, but it's not a Mini. I get more pleasure out of the Mini. Although 300hp/300ft lb trq is cool I don't get the sensation I get when driving the Mini. Gas is also and issue, if you step on the Sub heavy you'll pay for it.
What's made you switch?

What's made you switch? Mostly because i took a friend of mine Mini out for a drive when he got it. Was a blast to drive. Also just getting kind of tired of the Suby. I hate to say that as it is a beautiful car, but all love afairs come to an end! On that note if anyone is interested in buying a Suby let me know 8) |

I'm a little new here, too, but not new to MINIs or MINI clubs. Just moved to HR from SoCali where I was involved in 3 clubs! The Fearless Leader of one of them - the one I was most active in - also owned a WRX STi which he bought after he'd had his MINI for 6 months or more. He rarely drove the thing, preferring his MINI. He's selling the STi now for something else, but he's still driving, and loving, his MINI!
