Hey Jeff, for me and maybe some of the others that may not know, what do you do and where? Sounds like ya got a pretty lean crew.
I hate being stretched that thin. Been there, done that. Occasionally we'll have a body tech leave. The guys like the fact that work gets divided up by less people. But they soon get burned out trying to keep up. We're that way now in the office. We only have two of us writing estimates and we write more estimates than any other Maaco center in the chain. To the tune of 130 average estimates a week.

As much as I want to make the Fall Colors run, I just realized I won't be able to make it. I'll be in Miami for business the week before and doubt I'll have any spare money or time when I get back. Shoot, I'd rather make the run than go to Miami. Besides, Tyler will have the MINI down in Charlotte. However, negotiations are underway for an additional MINI in the household. Specifics to follow........

I work at the Navy base for a contractor. I'm listed as "tradesperson II" but I was performing the job of a logistician before my boss quit. Now I'm filling his position as a logistics analyst II (buyer) but he was way further up the food chain than LA II. The job isn't really hard but it's VERY stressful and tedious. The stress of money being tight is just compounding the problem. Just curious but, of those 130-ish estimates, how many of them do you get the job to do? I haven't been to your shop before but damn! Even if you get just 25% of them you guys are cranking out some repairs/paint jobs/etc!

With all the parts I order I under stand the headache in procurements. Not to mention sending wrong parts back! As for the estimates, we'll do about 35 to 40 cars a week. So we get somewhere around 25-30% of what we write. The good thing is we can "cherry pick" the better jobs and let the less than desirable cars (and sometimes their owners) go to other shops!

Is there going to be gathering of Mini's locally to take a liesurely drive out on Friday? If so, what time are you all looking at - if I need to get off work a bit early want to put in for a sub NOW! Thanks.
Jeff and I would like to ride up with everyone we just need to get more info on meeting spot. We live in Newport News so if someone could let us know that would be great. Sky

We were in PA this past weekend attending a special Shelby GT500 gathering. The fall leaves were not in full showing there. In fact there were only a few trees showing color. We may just get an excellent show during our run if the warmer weather keeps floating around. During a Dragon Run, the Hubby and I attended during the first week in November last year, there were many trees still in full blown green. We may get very lucky during our run and get many Kodak moments for the taking.

I'm still getting mixed signals at work. I'm off today because the building that I work out of is closed for Columbus day but I brought my laptop home to catch up on the work that has to be done on it. I'm seriously considering going on this trip anyway and just wearing the numbers down on my CC a little further. SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!! One thing I couldn't find is, when is everyone leaving here? I will definitely have to work the Friday before the trip so, with taking a shower, eating, packing and so forth, it will probably be 5 or 6pm before I leave here. Are we all just meeting at the hotel Saturday morning?

Okay Amy you brought the on front page to 12. Looks like a great turn out so far. Okay we're missing for Don & Steff, Rachel & Greg, Erika, Adam, Terese, Bob & Paula, and we know Jeff is waiting for work to give him a break. The cool weather this weekend has really got me anxious to go.

What is the plan on meeting? Is everyone else going up Friday afternoon independently and then gathering Saturday morning? With the way things have been going at work I think I'm just going to tell them that I have to have the day off and go on up there. I NEED to get away! SERENITY NOW!!!

Glad to hear you're looking more into being part of this. Bill and myself would enjoy traveling with others. Maybe stop for pics along the way and some videos. I've been with major horsepower gearheads for two weekends in a row. I'm so going to enjoy some Mini folks time. I'm crossing my fingers and toes (no you don't want to see the toe thingy ) that we will have excellent weather. Looking forward to seeing some Mini people I've not seen in a while and, and meeting some new faces as well. Any chance of getting some tshirts made for this event? I wish I knew more about the entire process because I would've jumped on it a few weeks back. Surely we'd be cutting it close at this point.
