I know... I'm a chatty SOB lately.  That's what happens when I'm sick.  I research stuff.  Anyway, regarding tires...  The set I won at MotD can be any size up to 18" in any of the following varieties. Yokohama AVID, S.drive or Parada.  You all know how I love to drive so, sticky is good but I'd be willing to give up some sticky for longer life.  Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!   icon_mrgreen

There are hundreds of write up and comparison tools on tirerack.com Jeff... good reading there to help you decide.  I don't have any experience with yokohama tires personally.  Good luck!

I can attest for the Yoko S drives. Running through twisty Rte. 60 in West Va, they really stuck. I was really amazed. They weren't my Hoosiers, but I've spent more on tires that didn't stick as good as there. Can't vouch for the longevity, but as for ride quality and stickiness, I could not be happier!

honestly i know this is weird but my BFBFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 are awesome...   they have great traction here in italy wherre the roads are slick and the wear rate is decent i expect to get a few seasons 4+ out of them

My last set of tires were the Yokohama Paradas.  I loved the tread pattern and performance.  They were rated for 40,000 miles, but I only got about 25,000 out of them.  That's due to two reasons:  bad alignment and how I drive.  The part about the odd pattern wear is they started sounding like a set of Thornbergs after awhile.  As long as you get them aligned, you should be good.  Two recommendations:  Autohaus or CF.  They have the special alignment machines needed to align tires on a Mini.  Don't have the common shops like Tread Quarters do it; they don't have the right equipment.
