Hiya, guys!

As some of you know, I've got a 2003 Cooper S.  For the past few months, the coolant reservoir bottle has been weeping a bit at the center seam.  Nevertheless, the car has shown no tendency to overheat.  Friday I'm leaving on a little 1000 mile trip and I'm wondering if I should replace the bottle before the trip?  Is the reservoir bottle in the pressure loop?  Is it in danger of a pressure failure on a long trip?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I believe this a common problem and am repairing it now. A little leak doesnt appear to hurt but as soon as the level gets low enough to allow air to enter into the system your radiator fan may turn on and not shut off! I went looking for answers and found it on NAM. The tank is cheap 32.95 at Atlantic British and includes the cap! Save yourself the worry.

I put in the overflow bottle this afternoon after work.  It was a pretty simple install, about twenty minutes.  One hint for getting the bottle out of the space behind the engine after removing it from the bracket:  Turn it around backwards!
