John, that looks great.  What are you planning for the interior?

I currently have a new wood steering wheel with 3 chrome spokes and 3 holes in each spoke. Some nice plush black carpeting with new padding, 2 seats from an 08 Mitsubishi Eclipse that I have to figure out a way to mount. Stereo upgrade of course. A MiniMania forum member emailed me a template to make a speaker cabinet for under the rear seat. A roll bar of some kind will also find its way in there too! Almost forgot, I'll have the rear seat covered to match the fronts, that way I'll have a black and grey interior.

If I think of anything else, I'll let Ya know......  023

Boy, 023 I'm glad I got to see Bertie before I came out here. Only four more days before I head East.

Sorry Dale, now that the oaint and body is done, Bertie rests comfortably at home, under a nice cover too. I had to clay bar the paint on 3 occasions for shop overspray. DUH, you think I would have figured it out after the first episode!  115

Jeff, I thought you of all people would fancy the blue with white stripes up the middle  045 Rachel, even though we have not yet met, I can only imagine why the color combination pleases you!!!

Sean, did someone say they heard you we're looking on E-Bay????  106

Tim, all I can say is, let's get together when you get back and see what we can do. And yes, I did all the work you see here.

So, did you drive it home or did you trailer it in an hermedicly sealed compartment with styrofoam peanuts all around it?

When are you bringing it out to VIR?

Hey John...... Ebay is the current "wild hair".......  other "wild hairs" have included moving to Vail, Co, with a bag of clothes and $300 bucks..... stayed 2 years........... tried to see how fast I could get a MINI going..........riding a bycycle during rush hour in Mahattan......going to cooking school, just so I could "woo" women............... going to Germany to drive in a circle......................

The Ebay Project..... aka Project Civilian Stealth Go-Kart, PCSG... would be a street legal, race ready classic mini....... in the sleeper style.  All go, no show.

Bertie is way cool, I can't wait to see her in person!!   023

No Roy, I actually drove him home last Friday evening. No bubble wrap or ghost turds to protect him. His colors seem to catch the eye of SUV drivers pretty well, as I was flagged by two of 'em on my way home. Lottsa these  023 023 023 too.

Shawn, I hope the first paragraph of this post clarifies the actual gender of Bertie better for you. It would seem that you have been the only one so far to refer to him as, "her"....  018 018 018

Don't get me wrong, until I bought my first MINI, all my hot rods we're my B's. I don't really know why I started calling them male names.......maybe the wife can help me there 094

Before I forget to mention it, Dale, Stan actually sponsored the whole project, except for the paint, the labor, the blood & sweat. I'm good, but I couldn't manage to get him to actually do the work too..

As for VIR, I may drive him out there, but I'm probably not going to put him on the track. I'm too much into looks these days. Must be my seniority kicking in.  112
