anyone have any idea what this black box with the fake book and hidden decoder glasses and thingy is all about?

I got one after the first black box of "toys" came and of course a very beautiful welcome basket of goodies. The decoder stuff I thought was a group kind of game, anyway I pretty much set it aside and its in my house somewhere...  102

The "Black Box" witht he decoder was a marketing plan by MINI about a year a go or so.  In magazines they place full page ads that needed to be "decoded" by current MINI owners as they were the only one's that had decoders.  The point was to have a current MINI owner do the selling, since the only people who would search out the decoder would be a MINI enthusist, they would have to find a MINI owner to get a decoder. 

Those MINI ad execs!!

Wow come to think of it Jeff got a really nice basket with a hat, and key fobs, some munchies, all kind of cool stuff. Then came the black box with the window poetry, and the mysterious decoder.  All I got when I got my mini was the black box with the window poetry, and the mysterious decoder. 102

WEll,  I RECIEVED the black box with the decoder two years after I purchased the mini

I never recieved a basket of goodies - I purhcased a 2003 mini.

Did checkered Flag send out the basket of goodies to owners post 2003?  Now I want one....

any way,

I was really curious about the decoder thing, as I never got word from min about what to do with it, but I would like to try to use it.  Are there any sample ads online that I can print to add to the box for future reference?

My friend did get some dash board and control panel stickers last year, I never recieved them.  Very Austin Powers.  oh well, ;(

MC2 magazine had run a few MINI adverisements several issues back that had the decoder white roof in the corner of each ad. I haven't seen any since or anywhere else for that matter.
