I wanted to leave a comment there, but wasn't up for registering to yet another car website. I will say here however, that keeping the Mini Electric car looking like a MINI rather then some wierdo aternative electric looking thing with a MINI badge on it is refreshing.

Would I buy one? Who knows what's going to mandate buying in the next few years (or sooner)!!!

I hope they make it quick, like say the Tesla Roadster!!  077  (Look it up, worth it I promise)  It could easily be made as fast as a cuurent S, how much fun would that be??!!

Your right with the Tesla. The MINI would be a HOOT. 023

" a HOOT " ? That certainly sounds like a refrence from the very early 70's, if not even the late 60's.

HOOT, HOOT, might even make a nice sound for a horn  074

Yea the Tesla is nice but it's also a light weight purpose built car.
For all it's coolness the MINI is a bit tubby. MINI E = tubbier lol
The estimated curb weight for this car is a portly 3200 lbs. 500 more than mine weighs full of gas.

Here's a little more technically informative link.

I did get an invite to be a US tester, I just had to move to NYC to get it.
