Please read: Flyer to be posted later on today....Hello Everyone, As some of you may already know my girlfriend Heather Dinonno has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Sadly this is the second cancer she has fought this year. In May of 2008 Heather was diagnosed with a Sarcoma tumor on her side. She went through two surgeries then 6 weeks of radiation and never complained a bit. She really is one tough girl. Last month during follow-up scans a mass was located in her breast and the following biopsy was positive for cancer. Heather and her doctors have decided that a double mastectomy will be the appropriate course of action. Here is where we are asking for your help and support. Due to the many doctors appointments Heather has minimal sick time available from the Virginia Beach School system and her sister Kristen Davis and Cozumel Mexicano Restaurant has graciously offered to have a benefit Day on her behalf. 15% of this Mondays sales, December 15th, will be donated by Cozumel Restaurant into a charity account set up by The Bank of Hampton Roads for Heather. Any and all support is appreciated far more than I can say. Sean

For those of us that work for the school system we can donate a personal leave day to Heather and that will give her another day of sick leave. So for all of you you know someone that works for VBCPS ask them if they will consider donating a personal leave day to Heather. I am getting the paper work done now.
On another note, once surgery is scheduled lets get a meal delivery plan going for Sean & the kids. Fortunately they both have family support in town, but I think the Mini community can pull together to help in this stressful time. Laurie

Sorry to hear this, but glad folks are stepping up to the plate to help. I'll plan lunch or dinner at Cozumel's Monday for sure. Anyone interested in a Mini gathering there for dinner?

We will definately be there Monday night. We're going to try to get the whole family to go since we usually do a Monday night dinner anyway. We'll also pass out the flyer at the TSCC meeting tonight and see if the club can do something as well.
Also, if you two would like a quite evening alone let us know and we'll watch the kids for you guys.
Please let us know if you need anything at all. And tell Heather we love her and she's in our prayers.

I'll be there for sure! Lets make this a MINI/Mini gathering! Either way, I can't think of anything more important than supporting one of our own.

I know Elaine wouldn't miss some south of the boarder food. Count us in. A co-worker ( a MINI owner) just went through this procedure, so my heart goes out to her.

Since we're a bit far away to meet for Mexican on Monday, is there a way we can send a donation? We're in Texas right now.
Heather, our neighbor at the Ocean View condo, had that procedure in 2002. It was completely sucessful, she's healthy and happy today.

Heather, I don't believe we've met, but I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Just an idea, but if we're making this a Mini gathering we could take up our own donations for those who want to contribute something while we are having dinner. I know times are tuff for a few, so we could just have a small piggy bank or something similiar in the middle of the table. Maybe pass it around a few times and who ever feels the need to contribute do so. Those that are not in the position to contribute shouldn't and hopefully won't feel pressured. Any other ideas? Anyone want to throw some meeting times around. I'm good for whenever that day.

This is from facebook: Hi Everyone, A lot of people have asked me what they can do to help if they can't make the benefit dinner. I have set up a bank account that is for donation purposes to help Heather out. If you would like, you can send in a check made payable to "Donations for Heather DiNonno" send it to : Bank of Hampton Roads 1100 Dam Neck Rd. Virginia Beach VA 23454 Please do not feel in any way obligated to do this. I am only sending this out because a lot of people have asked, and this is an easy way to get the information out. Thanks to everyone!! Kristen
