Today I visited Entree Vous, another "Make & Take" kitchen in Chesapeake.  They are located at 940 Cedar Rd., midway between Battlefield Blvd & Dominion Blvd.

I met with Renee Davis, the manager.  She is super cool!  The set up is pretty much the same as Sociale Gourmet minus the gourmet / gift store portion.  There are multiple work stations with simple easy to understand instructions.  Meals are available in 2-3 or 4-6 serving sizes and vary in prices.  Some meals are not available in 2-3 services because of their nature (i.e. pot roast, flank steak, etc.).  Also there are single serving packages available too!  The single serving sampler includes either 6 Entrees or 3 Entrees & 3 Sides.  The cost is $29.99.  The entrees can either be prepared by the customer or pre-made by her, whichever is preferred.

The Hostess program is amazing!!!  If we have 6 or more people, and each person orders 6 entrees then the Hostess gets their first 3 entrees FREE!!  If we have 6 or more people, and not everyone orders 6 entrees then the Hostess gets their first 2 entrees FREE!!!  Pretty dang cool, if you ask me!!!  So we will definitely need to start rotating the hostess.

They have run into a franchise abandonment recently, she said that it is kind of a blessing to them though.  Now in addition to the 14 meals online they have a secondary menu to choose from with a bunch of more choices.  She said that she will email me the additional menu options each month, I’ll post it on the website then each guest can choose their meals and call her with their orders.  Guest can either pay over the phone or pay in person the night of the party.

All of their ingredients are fresh not canned or frozen.  Renee comes to the store in the morning and prepares everything for the day fresh.  They also offer a menu with ZERO transfat.

They have side dishes and desserts available for pick up as well.

The dish I made today was Chicken Wellington.  We plan on having it for dinner tomorrow night.  I will post to let you all know how we like it.  But I think we may want to go ahead and schedule our January party so that everyone can be the judge.

They will close the store for our private party so we’ll have the place to ourselves.  We can bring beer, wine or other beverages of our choice to enjoy.  They provide appetizers.  And they also have a large LCD screen on the wall with speakers around it for playing music and entertainment during our party.

Their website is www.entreevous.com and there phone number is (757) 819-6742.  Check it out and let me know what you guys think.   023

Excellent Ang!! I'm so glad you went to check it out! Did you make the meal you prepared? How was it?

I just checked out their web site and the menu looks good!  023

The only question I have so far is about portions: the website shows all regular size entrees (2-3 servings) as PICK-UP orders only. Will that change if we have a group?

Hey Jenn!  We haven't had a chance to cook our meal yet....probably not till Wednesday night.  I'll post as soon as we finish dinner!  LOL!! 044

I asked the same question because that's the portion size that we make.  And yes, most of the dishes can be made in 2-3 serving sizes.  You will just need to phone in your order instead of processing it through the website which you will need to do anyway if you plan on purchasing any of the meals off their secondary menu.  Cool?

How do we find out what's on the secondary menu? I assume it's not published anywhere accessible on the web? If we end up making this one a regular thing, maybe we can publish it here?

Thanks so much for doing all this!

No Problem!!  Remember, right now I'm unemployed and school doesn't start till Jan. 12th so I'm really glad to have something to do right now.  I'm going stir crazy!!! 101

Okay, we finally ate our Entree Vous meal last night.....

YUMMY!!!!!  It was delicious!!!  Chicken Wellington...chicken breast with a mushroom, swiss cheese and herb mixture inside a puff pastry.  Oh baby!!  Should be renamed to Chicken "Yum"-ington! 118

Okay, who's ready to sign up for January?

Sounds good to me!  I'm voting for January 28 only because I'll be in PA the week before that for work and family stuff.   023

I'd be interested in late January too.  We're still working through all the extra food I got from Sociale Gourmet last time.  So is this place an exclusively privately owned business now that the franchise ran off or was that a different franchise they where dealing with?

The franchise was sold (i think) and since then there hasn't been much interaction with the new franchise.  I don't think they are in danger of closing or anything.  I hope.
