I will call Kathy & Martin tomorrow and see what is available and what kind we're looking at to lock in the reservation and when we need to have payment in.

Does anyone else have an opinion?  I really don't want to just take over this without everyone being on board.  Promise, I'm not trying to horn anyone out.  icon_mrgreen

There is only one cottage that allows pets.  It sleeps two couples and one single.  There is an additional $10 per night per pet cost.

I know Marty & Jenn will be one couple because they have puppies.  I know last year that Steve & Colleen brought their 2 pups also.  This could cause a problem if there are too many people who absolutely have to bring their pets.  I will email Kathy & Martin and see if there is any flexing of the rules on pets.

OK, I just heard back from Kathy & Martin.  There is no way to budge on the pet policy.  Only the cottage can have pets.  Kathy said that if you wanted let your pet sleep in your car and make sure that it never enters the inn or farmhouse, that would be ok.  And obviously clean up after it.  They have to keep the inn pet free due to lots of reasons, mainly because that is were most of their guests stay and they need to maintain the ability to suite the needs of people with allergies or fears of ticks and fleas.

So seriously, how many people are 90-100% sure they are going and 90-100% sure that they absolutely want / need to bring their pets?  See poll here: FCR Pet Poll

Just let me know so we can decide if we need to find another place to stay.

I don't know if Marty & I can go, let alone bring our rodents... chances are if we went we'd leave them at the vet. Tribble gets car sick, and they both go nuts if we leave them alone in a strange place.

What routes did y'all use in previous FCR events. I seem to remember Don telling me about Rte 250 into WV. I've run that road before and it's definitely a fun one! What other routes have been run and how long are they usually? I'd imagine a few hours with maybe a lunch break somewhere.

We did Skyline Drive & surrounding areas 3 years ago, area around where Rt. 39 &  Interstate 81 2 years ago, area around Lexington, VA this past year (I think).  This is very vague but I'm not very good with remembering routes from events past.  044

Yeah, the first year we started at the bottom of Skyline Drive, made our way up to Luray, and hit up the caverns there.  We didn't do a whole lot the 2nd day (at least I didn't).

2nd year, we drove up Lexington, and then did 300+ miles of craziness into WV... Couldn't tell you the exact route to be honest.

Last year, I just took pictures! lol... I have no IDEA where we rolled to be honest.  017

I'd love to be more involved this year, but seriously without a sporty car to drive for the event, I can't see it making sense to participate.
