I'm looking for a Jan. 2003 or newer factory Mini stereo, which would provide the auxilary jack option.  It must be an Alpine deck.  It should have a model number of CD53 R50, and a BMW code of something like 65 12 6 961 275 (6512 6961275) or 65 12 6 977 697 (6512 6977697).  Newer models with MP3 capability are a plus.  There are several available on E-Bay, but I thought I would start locally before buying one there.  Thanks.

UPDATE:  I would also be interested in a OEM 6-disc CD changer that plays MP3s.  Has to use the BMW I-Bus system for CD changer controls.  Here are several model keys to check with; it is a compiled list across compatible BMW cars.  According to posts on NAM, the changer would have to come out of a 2005 or newer MINI Cooper.  It took some digging, but one article I found mentioned the 2005 version started production in July 2004 and was being delivered in August 2004.

65 12 0 141 220 01 (6512 0141220-01) --> Produced to 9/2004
65 12 0 395 210 01 (6512 0395210-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 9/2005
65 12 0 410 241 01 (6512 0410241-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 11/2005
65 12 6 908 950 01 (6512 6908950-01) --> Produced to 3/2001
65 12 6 913 390 01 (6512 6913390-01) --> Produced 3/2001 to 9/2004
65 12 6 945 021 01 (6512 6945021-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 9/2005
65 12 6 960 514 01 (6512 6960514-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 11/2005
65 12 6 983 335 01 (6512 6983335-01) --> Definite MP3 capability
65 12 6 983 336 01 (6512 6983336-01) --> Still available; definite MP3 capability
65 12 8 364 936 01 (6512 8364936-01) --> Produced to 4/2000
65 12 9 112 757 01 (6512 9112757-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 9/2006
65 12 9 119 706 01 (6512 9119706-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to 12/2006
65 12 9 131 852 01 (6512 9131852-01) --> Produced in 2004 and newer BMW products; definite MP3 capability
65 12 9 131 853 01 (6512 9131853-01) --> Produced 9/2004 to Present; should have MP3 capability

Compatible BMW cars:

Mini Cooper - 2002-2005 (perhaps newer)
7 Series - 1997-2005
5 Series - 1997-2005
3 Series - 1997-2005
E53 - 1997-2005
X3 - 1997-2005
X5 - 1997-2005

Here's a quick how-to with MP3s:  NAM - MP3 Quick Guide.

Here's a link providing additional info on the changers, how to install them, get audiotext to work, etc.:  Bimmer Nav - MP3 CD Changer.

This request is defunct since I wrecked my '02 MCS and have bought an '06 MCS.  Now I just need to pick up an MP3-capable BMW CD changer.  I have a couple of references incase anyone is interested.

I bought a (what appears to  be) a brand new MP3 CD changer on E-Bay for only $340 w/shipping (part 65 12 6 983 336).  It has a new 6-disk cartridge with it as well.  Now I can make a disk for each music type (i.e. rock, techno, etc.) and do away with swapping CDs.  This is my alternative to fooling around with an IPod while driving.
